DMoney caught up with Oregon five-star edge rusher commit Anthony “Tank” Jones, who opened up about his recruitment and why he decided to visit the Hurricanes this past weekend. Jones was in the building as Miami knocked off the Irish 27–24.

You can watch the full interview in the video below, or if you’d rather read, I’ve included the full transcript as well:

How has Miami been?

It’s been good. I’m getting used to it now, just getting around the city, so it was good.

On his multisport background

It was just building discipline for a different sport. Like basketball, you gotta be disciplined. Track, you gotta have, like, good technique. Just all that carry on. Like football, I'm just on the field, so... I feel like playing multiple sports can tell you a lot.

What was it about Oregon that made you commit there?

The coaches, the atmosphere, just the environment, the players, just great stuff there.

What made you want to come out and see this ball game? [Miami vs. Notre Dame]

I want to see how the defense develops. I know the new defensive coordinator, so it'll be great to see that. I just want to get the feel for it again.

Do you watch your position to see how these guys perform at the next level?

I watch it all the time, especially like these edges, because Ruben, I know he's supposed to go to the first round. So I feel like that'd be good to watch him, especially seeing how he's good in his defense.

What do you like about this area?

Just feel like paradise. It's sunny outside, a lot of trees, a lot of people. It's just peaceful here.
