5-star CB Chauncey Kennon Sets Commitment Date; Includes Miami In Top Choices
Mario Cristobal and his Hurricanes staff were notified today that five-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon will announce his decision on July 6th.
The schools that are finalists for the Kennon Award include the Hurricanes, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and Oregon.
Kennon is a five-star prospect from Sarasota, FL, and stands 6 feet 2 inches tall. Although he was injured for part of his junior season at Booker High School, he still finished the year with impressive statistics: 33 tackles, 16 pass breakups, one interception, and a forced fumble on defense.
Chauncey is ranked as the 27th player in the nation, the 2nd among defensive backs, and the 4th-best player in the Sunshine State.
Kennon plans to travel this summer to visit several Power Five schools, including Miami, LSU, Florida State, Georgia, and Auburn.
