5-Star 2028 EDGE Asher Ghioto Opens Up on Miami: “They Treat Me Like I’m Already Part of the Family”

Miami continues to make a strong push for one of the nation’s top defensive prospects. After I spoke with five-star EDGE Asher Ghioto, it’s clear the Hurricanes have established themselves as one of the schools firmly in the mix. Also just got placed a Crystal ball to land the five-star talent on Wednesday.

The biggest takeaway from our conversation was how consistent Miami has been throughout his recruitment.

“Miami is really locked in with me. They text me every day and text my parents too. They are pretty clear on where they stand with me.”

That daily communication has stood out to Ghioto. Miami has made it a priority to build a relationship not only with him but with his family, making sure everyone involved knows how highly the Hurricanes value him.

The connection with the coaching staff has only continued to grow.

“My relationship with the staff is super strong. They treat me like I’m already a part of the Miami family.”

That family atmosphere has become one of Miami’s biggest selling points under Mario Cristobal, and it’s clearly something Ghioto has noticed throughout the recruiting process.

Miami’s current commits and top targets have also been doing their part.

“I have some kids talking to me about coming. We have a group chat with some guys and talk often. I played high school with JJ Sparks, and he loves it there.”

Recruiting has become a team effort, with players actively helping recruit other elite prospects. Having someone Ghioto already knows and trusts enjoying his experience at Miami only helps the Hurricanes’ position.

Despite all the attention from college programs, Ghioto isn’t in a hurry to make a decision.

“I’m taking my time on my recruitment. Right now I need to focus on getting better and helping my team get back to the state championship.”

Instead of rushing the process, the five-star EDGE is focused on his development and leading his team back to a championship run before turning his full attention to where he’ll play at the next level.

My Take

From talking with Asher Ghioto, Miami has positioned itself exactly where it wants to be. The Hurricanes are communicating every day, building strong relationships with his family, and getting help from current commits behind the scenes. There’s still a long way to go in his recruitment, but it’s clear Miami has made Ghioto feel like more than just another recruit, they’ve made him feel like family.

Give me McGee over Prescott. TBH, they are different DL, though. McGee is the standup pass rusher type. Former WR, long wingspan, has that burst. Prescott has a terrific frame but is less explosive on tape. Ghioto is easily the best of them - big size, has burst, and is much more polished. McGee and Ghioto would be an elite haul.

I respect your concern but why cause on3 got you believing there spin on recruiting of Bryson? 1. Miami doesn't have money 2. Texas will develop him into a better receiver than he already is? Miami hurricanes can give him the same option as well plus stay home. Sorry before you post things weight your answer before you get push back like you getting now!

They are not landing McGee or Prescott.

I would guess he could easily do 225 28 times though if that’s 315

No matter what this kid is strong af is the good thing. That height usually works against guys on the bench press when you have longer arms
