Boom to this. No need in wasting time on convincing him and the fam how great of a school UM is or how he will fit right in culture wise in the community. They already know all of that.

We need to put up some numbers in the W column and thats how you get a kid like this to remain interested come October. Its really that simple.

On the first part, there are different programs and colleges within the university. Like at any school, they aren't all created equal. Lucky for us, in this particular case, UM is ahead of its overall academic rankings in the specific programs he is interested in. If he and his parents are serious about education, of course you sell them on the strength of those particular programs. That's not "wasting time," that's the essence of recruiting. Sell your strengths.

As far as needing to put of Ws, yes, of course. That's always true. We need to consistently show up September through November (and then some) if we want to be successful in December and February. I think we're all on the same page on that one.

**** if he could I would go even farther and try to get him to go to Carnival in October where Haitian food, music and flags are all over. Idk what Arizona has showed him about Haiti but no way they're touching the environment here
This would be awesome. Haven’t checked the schedules but hopefully there is a home game that coincides with that weekend for him to come visit.

Naw they wouldnt have a game coincide with that weekend neither would the Dolphins. It's kind of like Carnival Cruise weekend and NBA All Star weekend which is why it hasn't been here in forever

Shame since they are talking about coming to a game in the fall and that would be ideal. Still like the idea of getting him down for Carnival, guaranteed they won’t have anything like it in College Station, Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa or South Bend.

I had heard his dad went to UM, but did his mom go to UM also? Regardless, I was just commenting on the article and the bolded part (where mom talks about the specific academic programs they're looking at). That bodes well for us (and so does the fact one or more of his parents went to UM).

But you of all people know that you always have to sell the school and the program in recruiting. George Karlaftis is at Purdue because he wanted to pursue an engineering degree. I think Anthony Solomon's mother went to UM, too, but he's up at Michigan. Evan Neal's at Alabama notwithstanding those family ties. Unfortunately, that list goes on and on...

But yeah, hopefully we land this kid, because he's a big, athletic freak who moves really well for his size and I happen to think Simpson would turn him into a beast at 3T.
- Karlaftis didnt want to leave the area he grew up in. He pretty much shut out everyone who recruited him
-Soloman was basically a drop
-Evan Neal bought out.

* You wouldnt have to sell the school to an actual graduate. Im sure his actual dad has been selling um's academics to him.

* This is my fav dt really to recruit. He is perfect as a 3t in our scheme.

See you had me until Baton Rouge. They're tricky and I wish I visited Louisiana more to be an "expert" on them but they do have a good Haitian population and have crazy parties on their side but I still wouldn't doubt Zoes partying it up down here

You’re right, I completely forgot about Haitians extensive influences on Louisiana. We still have the advantage in academics though right??? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Risen up to #18 in the rankings on 247
Shoot that’s a serious ranking. Kid would dominate on this line. And I’m all for him playing end. There’s nothing wrong with a big end in a 4-3 as long as he can move. Which by all account he can. Let him set an edge and dominate as a pass rusher and run stopper. The latter being an area where we need some improvement. Unc game being the prime example. Stewart too. Let both of them play end.
