In that same line of thinking he needs to find ways to get off the field and not give up 3rd and longs like we often do. Look at how many plays team runs on us it’s because they are converting 3rd downs and extending drives. Yes the offense could stay on the field more but the defense ultimately plays the biggest role in why it’s on the field too long . Get off the field period

Completely agree, 3rd down defense has been very suspect at times. All I'm saying is don't underestimate the impact a competent offense can have on a defense. Im tired of seeing the energy sucked out of our defense because our offense flat out sucks

Same can be said for the defense sucking vs FSU in the 4th, uva going down 14 points on two desperate occasions, Wisconsin game, 21-0 start vs clemson early on

Sure, we all know our o-line is a weak point. But it aint easy to run block when teams are loading the box daring rosier to throw.

43% completion rate at FSU is embarrassing considering the amount of bubble screens we throw and the athletes we have at wide out

see above post. Im not saying our defense is where it needs to be. I just think we will see a drastic improvement with an offense that can stay on the field and start to put pressure on these teams.

Not this dopey **** again. Was the defense tired when sorry *** Benkert tore them to shreds in the first half or when mediocre Kelly Bryant completed his first 20 passes on them?

Diaz made every **** QB we faced look like Tom Brady including that Wisconsin bum.

The defense **** near as inconsistent as the offense. It seemed like third and long was money for our opponents.

Like you said , we made average qbs look like studs , even the noodle arm qb from Wis.

When they are on they can play at an elite level but we need more consistency like we do on offense

Rosier would be better with more time.

I entertained that argument until I rewatched games and lost track of the amount of times Rosier missed guys running wide open. Didn't even glance in their direction and it had nothing to do with the o-line.

Our o-line and 3rd down defense need a lot of work don't get me wrong, but name one ******* team in the country who wins games with a guy who consistently has more incompletions than completions. Our QB play is far and away the biggest liability on the team at the moment.

Jarren comin

Yep hired Diaz as soon as Aranda agreed with lsu

The funny part of all of this is how people had googly eyes when his name first appeared on our radar. Now, since we open up against LSU, many don't even think he's worth a second look at closing time before the lights come on. Quality DC for sure though and he'll give our offense fits when we face them.

I'm not anti-Diaz, I just "HOPE" his problems with defending mediocre passing attacks stemmed from our lack of physical corners. We got those now with this past class even though they are young and inexperienced.

I agree. I'm not anti Diaz but the truth is he did make every second rate QB look like Manning. Hope it get corrected but I'm not optimistic.

Elam an Davis should be Canes!! After this year MJ an Dean are leaving an its nothin but freshman Theres no excuse for this at all same **** with DT last year and punting on a QB this year!?!?!? I like our staff honestly no complaints except oline needs to googet it together and these recruiting questions it seems everyone has. Not being negative at all i just don't get why they wouldnt recruit these 2 kids hard but accept a commit from Good on spot.

I wonder the same thing. I don’t understand how we take a kid that has little to no experience in the secondary but don’t go for Elam. I don’t know the whole situation but from the outside it just seems foolish. He truly may have just made it clear somehow to the staff that he isn’t interested and if so, can’t blame coaches for not over pursuing.

In his first year starting, Malik was inconsistent and downright disappointing against Pitt. So you're beating a dead horse and preaching to the choir with the poor accuracy and awareness, but I believe his accuracy and comfort in the offense are more mental than mechanical. That said, another year to get comfortable and work on his mental approach to being the starting QB at []__[], along with better line play, should make him a better and hopefully more consistent QB than last year. I expect the game will slow down a little for him in year two as well.

He made all the mental mistakes last season; like getting sacked for holding the ball, throwing untimely interceptions, and not having the right mental focus in-game (that led to being yanked against Pitt). Moving forward I expect improvement in those areas from the natural growth and maturity that comes with 15 STARTS as a big-time D1 CFB QB. People tend to view

This is Malik's second season as a starter and he's 12-3 overall with some big wins in what was a down year for our oline and running game. Jarren is the future that I can't wait to get here, but Malik's senior year should be his best and i'll look forward to seeing him compete.
