Currently sat at the 11th ranked recruiting class, the Miami Hurricanes continue to focus on adding talent, especially on the defensive line. One name that has risen throughout the fall is current Pitt commit Logan Nagle, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive lineman from NJ. He spoke to me for CanesInSight to break down his recruitment process:
On his Miami interest and Pitt commitment:
“I’ve been watching how [Miami’s] been doing the whole season … so I'm hoping to get back down there maybe on one of my bye weeks.”
“Right now my interest is really with Pittsburgh and Miami.”
On other schools pushing for him:
“Yeah, there have been some schools that have contacted me since I've committed, Big 10 schools for sure.”
On DC Corey Hetherman visiting him during the first bye week:
“That was great. It was my senior night so it was great to have him there. He came, he watched and I was just grateful to have him there to be able to talk to him.”
“Just to have him see me playing in real life was great.”
"I’d say it was kind of like a pitch … he emphasized how he’d love for me to get down there again to be able to see it twice … how that's important. That was the main part of the conversation and how he just enjoyed seeing me play.”
On Contact with other members of UM’s staff:
“Coach Cristobal and I talk a lot, Coach Taylor too.”
“We’ve really been growing a relationship over like the past month they've been recruiting me.”
On how Miami’s D-Line performance has impressed him:
“I mean it's great, especially how I got to see it first hand.”
“They have two of the best edge rushers in the nation right now, the best D-line in the nation … It's a high level that they're playing at right now so it's some great football.”
