More like the cost of quality Qb transfers is rising at a astronomical rate.. if Mario’s shifting to locking in the very best Qb prospects, he’s also freeing up capital for other high value whales and roster retention.
ya that too, good point

"Miami just landed two early commitments from Carrollton teammates CJ Cypher and Kweli Fielder."
"The pair are cousins and they have played together for years at one of Georgia's strongest high school programs. Now Miami has an elite 2029 quarterback prospect and a national top-50 2028 offensive lineman committed."

think the transfer QB market quality will trend down as the better guys are locked up, so smart to pivot our strategy a bit with HS especially now that the team is more established
We've have a depth strategy for the last few years. We were not a destination school for so long, we did patch work to build depth, because we sure AF werent about to let Judd or Emory push the whip. I still think we have a year or two left in us for a transfer QB market, but highly possible one of these highly rated young bucks may be able to move us forward.

These SEC guys are having a rough time.

The pitch (and pull) at Miami isn’t the games. Yes, SEC teams play a few games against better competition than in the ACC. That is 3 or 4 times a year.

The draw at Miami is every other day. Practice. Best on best. You get better that way than a handful of games. You also play for better coaches than Bobo and Searles. These SEC SEC guys have a tough time understanding that.

At least now I can enjoy Carrollton beating the ever loving **** out of my old high school each year. I hope we keep making inroads in Alabama and GA. There’s so many good players in those two states and with Bama in flux, UGA not playing the NIL game, we could start pulling in some **** good football players.

There’s no way Cypher is committing now and waiting until 2029. A cinch he’s a 28 kid
I think it’s a long game play. It’s clear we are putting every available resource into Wright in ‘28. Sell him on playing with Abrams and Cypher. Now schools can’t negatively recruit against the portal strategy.

Who’s gonna be your QB? More than likely two five stars. Could be me grasping at straws, because this is way outside Mario’s standards. But that’s the only reason I can see to why it makes sense.

Cypher is obviously talented, but so much of getting elite talent is the pieces around them that I’d imagine this helps tremendously with Wright.

Surely Miami has struggled recently against SEC teams right? I mean that’s the only reason you’d make that argument. Right?
