The two old excuses of

Not enough winning
Not enough money

Can’t be used anymore… early commits are pointless… unless it’s Duke Johnson feels like whoever else is always a show. Just recruit him and keep the board open… thankfully feels like the staff never has their pants down to keeping a big net cast especially nationally

If he's a commit - why does he have a final 5???
Doesn't make sense to me.
Because he is very, very unlikely to end up here lol.

Kid flew in an helicopter so he could make an announcement-edit for transferring to his third high school in his third year; then transferred to his fourth after a month.

Little buddy tagged 3 teams’ 247 page, Texas’ on3 page and another parallel message board, then tagged some canesempire account I’ve never heard of in my life lmao.

Idk if this is a dropped situation or something else where he is ready to go to another school but either way the result is looking the same. Back in November, dude was tagging Tennessee’s WR coach and Mike Norvell in highlights alongside Kevin Beard and the HS relations recruiting guy lmao :roll-canes2: :roll-canes2:

He is a speed demon but i don’t want to recruit WRs with (almost) more return yards than receiving yards. He could be a good return specialist who probably attends 2-3 schools at the next level.

Whether or not he develops as a WR is TBD. Kinda interesting he got that game sealing INT at Edison. His potential professional physical profile would be way more valuable as an DB than as a WR.

View attachment 356482Interested to see his track times this spring. Was apart of a super fast AH 4x1 relay team last year. Got a DNS on his individual heat.
Something i just found out about this is that after Stevens transferred or was preparing to transfer, Amare Nugent, UF commit, stepped in on this 4x100 squad. Nugent’s best reported time is 11.24 and AH was still able to capture the state championship with a 40.46 time.

The Bennett brothers were two of the fastest in the state and routinely got under 11 seconds; bests of 10.34 and 10.40. That third leg Cayden Smith had a wider range with a best of 10.67 and a high of 11.24 during the season. They did choose Stevens to start the track season off so it is safe to assume he is faster than Nugent despite the better time when swapped out.

Gotta realize we've moved past PRIORITIZING locals at the expense of better national products. We are a national brand and that's how we recruit. If you're in our backyard and we really want you well that's great. But if we have limited spots and greater opportunities than deuces. Either get on board with the idea of we're still looking around or decomitt and see how you do elsewhere.

Slot wr thats reclassifying with mali here for two more years, and upshaw probably replacing him? Yea this commit wasn’t lasting lol

Yeah, and that's how it should be.

Though at WR I'd expect us to be "local" (as in at least in state) for the most part in this class. And I'd probably only expect like 3 guys maybe out of HS this class? Signed 5 last class, and 2 of the 3 portal guys we have technically have 2 seasons elligibility.... Though Probably unlikely to only lose Barkate and have everyone else return (9 guys)..

Nick Lennear I'd assume is #1 priority at WR. If Brysen Wright reclassified he'd be #1 regardless of position...

I'd assume we're after both IMG guys McFarland and Gayles. And there is Julius Jones at St Thomas.

I think out of State I'd expect to focus maybe on Upshaws brother who is in Georgia, and the top ranked WR in the country I think right now is Monshun Sales out of indy...

Replace this kids spot with that speedy WR from Dillard and be done with it. The other spots are for Lennear, Upshaw, and save one for best available or some senior riser.

Stars are cool, but I was never impressed with his film.

I never thought he'd stick much less we'd recruit over him

The game is the game...and it goes both ways.

Players, committed or not, can maximize their earning potential by keeping the door open to other, high-paying schools and have them bid against each other.

Schools can maximize their roster potential by recruiting higher rated players (local or not) over "committed" players.

That AH squad would of been even faster they lost a transfer to cardinal newman because he wasnt getting football targets etc.
