2027 DL Demarco Jenkins commits to Miami following Official visit

After landing Houston native Ezekiel Ayangbile earlier this month, the Hurricanes have continued to push for defensive line reinforcements from “H-town,” landing a commitment from fellow defensive lineman DeMarco Jenkins.

A 6-foot-3, 310-pound interior force, the Hurricanes secured the commitment during the four-stars’ official visit this weekend.

The Pearland product brings knockback power and athleticism on the interior, driving offensive lineman backwards consistently — uses his hands well to create separation with an 80-inch wingspan.

And while he’s force over finesse, the four-star can move laterally when needed and utilize some rush moves.

Moreover, Jenkins carries his frame well with good, stout weight which will only level up at the next level.

This past season he racked up 48 tackles, 18 TFL’s and 8 sacks in 6A Texas football.

Miami secured his commitment over the in-state SMU Mustangs, as UM has now landed a pair of commitments from Texas in one month after failing to land a single Lone Star product during Mario Cristobal’s tenure.

A main factor in the Canes Texas momentum — defensive tackles coach Damione Lewis, who both Ayangbile and Jenkins mentioned as crucial in their process to head to South Florida.

The Hurricanes now boast 16 commits in the 2027 class, with more names possibly on the way following a successful opening OV weekend.

have always said, if we cherry pick the guys we want from FL and then go and get a kid or two every year from Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, California, DMV area, Vegas, and NY/NJ we're cooking with gas!!!

All jokes aside this kid is a steal. I don’t even know him personally but I’ve seen him play. 100% thought he as gonna go sec and then blow up

New Jersey has had a load of players: Greg Mark, Danny Stubbs, Mark Caeser, David Njoku, Greg Olsen, James Lewis

Most of Miami's standout QB have been out-of-state recruits

Now Mario is regularly going into Southern California

I actually have a listing of players from different states, I need to update that

it's a real shame Marty Patton got kicked off the team when he did, he had some real speed and a really good receiver out of the backfield...
