Four-star combo guard Oneal Delancy, one of the top prospects in the 2027 class, is eyeing a visit to Miami in the near future.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound standout from Montverde Academy (Fla.) told CanesInsight that plans for a trip to Coral Gables are currently being finalized

“I may be going on a visit soon; it’s in the works,” Delancy said.

Miami assistant coach Charlton Young has been leading Delancy’s recruitment for the Hurricanes, building a strong relationship over the past few months.

“It’s been great; we talk at least once a week,” Delancy said. “They’re great people, and they’ve shown how much they want me for sure.”

The connection to Miami goes deeper than basketball for Delancy, whose father is originally from the area.

“Definitely the area, because it’s so special and because my dad is from Miami,” Delancy added. “I think they’ll be very good for years to come, and I’m excited to watch.”

Before transferring to Montverde Academy, Delancy played at Gibbs High School (St. Petersburg, Fla.), where he averaged 15.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

Delancy has already taken unofficial visits to Houston, Florida State, Florida, FAMU, and South Florida earlier this year.

Ranked as the No. 46 overall player in the nation, the No. 6 combo guard, and the No. 10 player in Florida, Delancy continues to be one of the more highly sought-after guards in the 2027 cycle.

LAST NAME DELANCY WHICH MEANS HES BAHAMIAN...IM PROBABLY LEANING TO HIM BEING IT WITH HIS DAD BEING FROM MIAMI...AND WE HAVE A BAHAMIAN CURRENTLY ON STAFF IN LJ ROSE.
His dad OT played football at Miami Edison and FAMU. Older brother currently plays at Barry U. Not sure if there's a connection (it's quite possible) to Vernon, who played at Miami High back in the day.

Not sure they are related. He was at Gibbs HS prior to MVA. I have seen him play in person several times. He is a stud.
