2022 DE Kenyatta Jackson Discusses Miami

2022 Chaminade-Madonna (FL) 4-star defensive end Kenyatta Jackson is one of the top players in America at his position and is being heavily recruited by the likes of Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Louisville, Miami, Oregon, and many more schools. The hometown Miami Hurricanes will have to fight off plenty of competition to keep Jackson home, but one advantage they have is Miami is the only school he has ever visited.

“[Miami] was great. The atmosphere was good, it was pretty cool.”

Jackson also likes the coaches at Miami who are recruiting him, which includes head coach Manny Diaz and DB coach Travaris Robinson.

“When they talk, you can tell they mean it. They are straight up with me and the mentorship is pretty good.”

One of the main pitches from coach Diaz and coach Robinson is the defensive ends that Miami has put into the upcoming NFL Draft, such as Gregory Rousseau, Jaelan Phillips, and Quincy Roche.

“They talk about it all the time. I think it’s good because I can be one of those people to go first round. I believe I can go first round. I believe those coaches can put me in that spot.”

Jackson does not have anything locked in yet in terms of official visits, but he does plan on taking some as soon as the dead period is over.

There's always two sides to a story so hopefully there's some miscommunication because this is not a good look for Kenyatta Jackson at all.

Curious to see Kenyatta’s side of the story. Always to sides to every story but if true this a real bad look for him. No need to bad mouth the local school if you’re not interested in the first place.

Pass on this git, don't show him attention and don't waste your time. Sounds like a Bogle situation to me.

And in the end Jamaal Johnson might be the better player.

People overreact to this stuff all he time. These guys are kids. It’s easy for a reporter to get quotes, twist things, make it sound bad, etc. maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. Folks say its his agenda. Maybe. Maybe it was someone else’s agenda to present it that way. Maybe it’s even true - we may be giving more attention to stewart and kelly. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true, or even bothered to hear it.

Whether he visits UM for a BBQ or not isn’t a big deal. The writing on the wall certainly looks like he’s headed elsewhere, but the drama is overrated, imo. It’s just recruiting.

At face value that doesn’t seem like an overly disparaging comment.

has he ever shown legit interest in us? Asking cause I truly don’t know.

I think there was some interest but him not coming to the cookout when he didn’t go to another school that day is telling. No idea if he is a take for Bama Clemson OSU but he is a good enough player were you still recruit him.

Something else had to have been said in addition to those comments

The whole concept of a recruit receiving attention or not is completely arbitrary, we can be contacting him 4-5 times a week and he can be *****ing cuz it isn't every day contact and then tell some reporter UM isn't giving him any attention. He's a highly rated prospect at a pipeline high school, if attention is faltering its likely cuz he wasn’t reciprocating.
