Well now the flood gates will open because Ok State is starting to put the full court press on Tiano, they came out of no where.

An FSU is starting to show interest as well. FSU's co-Off Coor went to visit Tiano.

So as Coley predicted Tiano's recruitment is starting to take off.

I'm glad his recruitment is picking up. Those schools can afford to take a chance on him.

Well if UM misses out on QB Brandon Wimbush, then whom would suggest as the #2 option other than Tiano; since you feel UM can't afford to take a shot on this developmental kid who has a high football IQ matched with above average athleticism in a 6'5" 220lbs body.

Coley has experience developing QBs?

Morris was on one leg and was mentally never good as a qb. Doesn't say how Coley coaches qbs

Well with Brandon Wimbush committed to PSU and Torrance Gibson not a real option per reports about his recruiting articles, it is looking more and more like Nick Tiano will get the green light to commit. Or they may go old school an ask him to attend the AL Golden Camp and throw against some other QB recruits like Ryan Stanley.

I dont want to be the barrier of bad news but QB Nick Tiano is not coming here and i think he never did, its was just his first offer from an elite school. right now Miss State leads but if Tenn or another SEC school come knocking he is gone. I expect to commit in the summer to an SEC school.

Its funny though because i liked Ryan Stanley out of all of them and now he is becoming more of an option.
Wimbush-gone
Gibson-gone
Taino-will be gone

We striking out!

Miss State-Offer
OK State

All showing Heavy Interest and he doesn't want to go far from home is what i read some where. They are also calling him a STUD QB now. i guess Coley knows his talent. He also garnered High Praise last year when he camped with FSU.

Miss ST received a commitment from the 8th ranked dual threat QB for 2015 Chason Virgil, so they are most likely done at QB for 2015.

Article on Chason Virgil's commitment to Miss St

This commitment puts Tiano back in a holding pattern with UM being his only other major to date, while all the others evaluate him. It's starting to look like he could end up in UM's 2015 class as insurance if lawson flips to another school last minute. His options of Tennessee are a long shot since Tenn will most likely land Gibson.

I still would like to see Tiano vs Stanley at a AL Golden camp next month, winner gets a commitable offer.

Interesting turn. I kind of like this kid. But I like pro style offense. We have so many weapons and a running or dual threat QB has tendency to think himself the primary weapon. With the likes of Duke and Stacy on the field, I much prefer the ball getting in their hands. Given our history recruiting QBs since Dorsey, I think we need to take a bunch and hope one works out. I am trying of being stuck with one friggin QB option every year. I seriously doubt Gibson is coming here. He really doesn't fit our DNA anyway. Everyone is hung up on dual threats, but it was Miami that killed that sort of QB starting with our first NC game. Turner Gill was as good as they get like that. We killed the option once, we can again. See Ray v 49ers two years ago. Don't throw Russel Wilson out there, he fakes running but seldom actually runs. Russel is a very smart QB. Smarter than he is mobile.

Um, nobody really runs that offense that Turner Gill ran. Dude was a glorified RB and that was it. Today dual threat QB, will chew you a new *** on the ground our through the air. Even VT is getting away from that crap. They added Texas Tech transfer Michael Brewer this off season. RGIII, Manziel and Tebow types will hurt you either way you look at it. NFL results don't matter at this level anyways.

True, like the others of the day, THE U killed it. My point is that if we return to roots we will do the same today. We would need those old DTs. Nothing works without them. Tackle the options without the ball, contain QB in pocket and then put helmets on him. We even had Tebow shaken in slimeville if we would have just had an offense that could score we could have won that game. oh, Gill was not to bad a passer.

1983 (Senior)
Gill finished a sterling Nebraska career with a 28-2 record as the Huskers' starter including a 20-0 conference mark. Gill led the Big Eight in passing efficiency as a senior (152.7) and would have ranked third in the country had he attempted 10 more passes. One of the surest passer in Big Eight history, Gill set a school and conference record, and just missed the NCAA record for lowest interception percentage in a career (11 interceptions in 428 attempts, 2.57%), just .01 from the record set by USC's Paul McDonald. Had Gill thrown just one less interception or two more passes, he would have set the record. Gill set a school record (and fell just 17 shy of the conference record) by throwing 125 passes without an interception. Gill finished his career third on the NU chart in completions, percentage and yards (trailing in all three categories All-Americans Jerry Tagge and Dave Humm). Second to Humm with 34 career touchdowns, Gill also finished fourth all-time in NU total offense behind Tagge, Humm and Mike Rozier.
