I mean they got talent at the receiver positions but it’s not really proven. As much as they tout their receivers they have mediocre production and if you look at stats vs above .500 teams they faced they didn’t do well in their passing game. I know Miami’s group has a bunch of talent and we aren’t necessarily proven beyond a handful of the guys at the position but at least we acknowledge that.
I think the three I named are pretty proven again I'm not gonna argue production especially in college where it's so year to year. I don't think any of them are going to be a big problem like 100-150+ yard game but they can get open and make plays. Toney probably worries me the most because week one tackling is usually questionable no matter the team and he's very elusive and can break big ones off if tackling and angles aren't right

I mean That looks like mediocre/unproven production to me. I think They got talent at the position but people mainly their fans hype them up like they are on bama , Clemson or Ou level at receiver. Our dbs are seeing receivers/tes that present even more challenges than uf does in practice everyday so they will be ready imo

Oh yeah definitely not the level UF fans think they are but they are definitely still a skilled group. Again production isn't a good projection in college it's truly year to year. We're projecting way more for JT4 because of what his talent suggests and I think it's naive to think other players won't take that step too with better QB play and more of an emphasis on them from the OC. Gonna come down to Franks play/our pass rush on how the passing game is going to go

Franks better do a whole lot of improving, in 7 games vs above .500 teams last year he only had a 55% 1135 passing yards 6 tds 4 ints which is pathetic. He did well against bad teams and below average defenses but greatly struggled vs everyone else outside of a few games like Mississippi state and Michigan where he looked average at best in those games.

You are way off on their DL situation. Campbell and Shuler both started last year. In fact, they return their top 4 DTs from last year (not that any are all that great). Polite is a huge loss for them, but nfl mock drafts have Zuniga in the first round next year. Greenard is also a big time transfer comprable to trevon Hill. This is the best DL we face all year and our OL better be ready

I'm not way off on the DL. Those guys did not start all year long.

Lol at the gator transfer being Trevon Hill. Hill is already elite and has the sack numbers against top competition with a weaker supporting cast around him. Hill was on pace for double digit sacks had played all season. I would consider Hill a comparison with Zuniga. Greenard had tons of chances to make sacks in 2017 with Action Jackson on the other side putting up video game numbers.

I disagree it's the best DL UM will face all year. FSU has multiple 5 stars starting on the DL this season. The only position groups UF has that might be the best we'll face all year is WR & CB. Still, nobody scares me at WR on UF. They don't have a JT4.

Not really. If the game were later in the year, I'd be inclined to say yes. Our QB/OL situation is likely going to restrict Enos' counters to what I expect to be ton of designed confusion from Grantham. Perhaps we'll see some deep shots, but I also expect Enos to heavily rely on our TEs and getting Jeff Thomas the ball on jet sweeps and in "easy" ways. It's gonna be a really interesting Xs and Os game bc of how early it's scheduled.

Another reason I think 50.5 is high for the total.

Have to imagine the 1st Q, if not 1st half, is gonna be like the first round of a heavyweight boxing match (OT: RIP Sweet P @k9cane)... feel each other out and avoid making a mistake/TO. Neutral site, ABC primetime game, first game of season against a bitter rival, etc.

Florida retuns 72% of its defensive production (good for 42nd in the nation). Strong secondary. Weak at MLB. This should create an opportunity to get the TEs involved, as you mentioned. Could see a few designed qb runs. Maybe take a deep shot to keep them honest, but otherwise grind it out and rely on our defense to create favorable field position. Can't stress the importance of the punter enough.

I recall everyone saying we should go the opposite way vs LSU last year -that we should attack attack attack. Didn't exactly work out. Usually doesn't against this caliber defense, unless you have Baker Mayfield back there.

Curious to see if Enos scripts his first 10-15 plays. The benefit of a new staff early in the season is lack of film for the opponent to study. We have an advantage against the defense in this regard.

Thanks for the correction, fellas. Like I said, just beginning this process. Is that Delance kid legitimate or a George Brown-ish level transfer?

I would also like to look at our OL versus their DL, feel like those match-ups are likely to be big in determining the game.

Tough to judge any general strategy with the plays we called, who was calling them and who was helping the playcaller adjust. I have a tough time judging anything about our offense last year.

No disagreement with that sentiment, but I remember being one of the few that thought conservative was the way to go. Especially considering the caliber defense we have. Win the toss, elect to defer, and get our defense out there to set the tone.

Early in the season, on the road or neutral games against quality opponents, that is just my personal preference.

It's fair. I dont think our defense will initially be as strong (metric-wise) as last season. I've said that a couple times.

Who we select as the QB I think will be an enormous hint in terms of likely style of play for first game (and beyond?).

So who did start? Their released depth chart for uga early in the season and FSU late in the season has the same 2 deep at DT.

If you want proof

Trevon had 2 sacks against FSUs nonexistent ol. Extrapolating that to a clear double digit sack season is a little ridiculous

Above ^ Zion blocking garvin in spring while Campbell and herbert get embarrassed. Also reed stands up nesta in the video

They werent going full steam.

Its why you hear Nesta chirping after at Reed. (saying Reed is always trying to show out lol)

Likely is suppose to be going half speed. But it showed me alot ont he ol even in that short clip.

Kennedy..good lord he looks like what he was. Herbert is who i thought he was in high school. Campbell looks good..but speed rushers will give him problems.

Does Enos call plays from the sidelines or up in the booth? i hope sidelines. If so, who is going to be his eyes up in the booth?

The only way I realistically see this game going over 50.5 is if there is at least one defensive or special teams TD that takes basically no time off the clock. Or overtime.

Is the total really 50.5? I've been waiting for this to be released and hadn't seen it anywhere. I didn't think it'd hit 50....if anyone has that line let me know I'd love to hammer the under.
