Your Opinion - Golden and the Prez

Wait? So the admin didn't turn to the AD to put a list of coaches together and handed it to a bunch of monkeys instead? Gtfo

The AD doesn't sit at a computer and Google potential replacements in any coaching search scenario. If you thought that, you need help. The AD has his underlings come up with viable choices and go from there with some of his supervision.

In this scenario, Blake James was too busy having Golden not answer his phone calls to really give his full attention to looking for replacements. One of his higher subordinates got lower staff and some interns to assist and putting a collection of names together where no name was approved of without the supervisor's approval. That's all business works. Get with the program.

Ted, all good Athletics Directors keep a list at all times. And they keep updating that list constantly. You never know when a HC will drop dead, quit, take another job, or have to be fired. The good ADs always have their own list, and they definitely don't leave that sort of thing to interns or underlings. Never.

Key phrase in that is that is what GOOD AD's do. You have seen better than most what type of cult like support the admin had for Golden going into December of last year.

AD's would tell their second in command to assemble a list of say 20 eligible candidates and some of the interns were asked mainly to gauge who the students would support as they are a major piece of fan support.

For the record, there were three student employees involved and we suggested about 25 names and 2 were accepted and they were only accepted because the guy that was supervising us thought they didn't suck.
