Robby Washington playing CB at practice today

Sounds like Mario didnt expect the "Robbie playing CB" news to blowup the way it did so now its time to moonwalk it back and say hes an "athlete who can do alot of things". Then proceed to say Robbie had a great day at WR and even caught a long TD. So for me, that sounds like Robbie wasnt fully bought into the switch yet and is really just giving it a try. Will be interested to see what happens here moving forward.
Sounds like he wants to be a WR, Miami wants him to be a CB, but want to keep him more than anything.

If you want him at corner put him at corner and call it a day.
That barely worked 10 years ago, much less now. Portaltown, USA. Just nature of the beast these days.

No this is an art. Softly whisper sweet nothings about giving it a try. It will be fun.. etc, then you slowly train him, coach him until he gets a taste of success… then you point to immediate playing time.

The key is balancing his ego (still playing WR) during this process & at the end, he thinks the final decision was his idea all along. Manipulation101.

/rarely work, not worth the effort usually.. but doable

With how loud his pops has been in past, wouldnt surprise me to see him shop the brothers somewhere like Lousiville if Robby doesnt look like he is going to get much PT, and Bobby is 2nd/3rd string.

It would stink because if they stuck with it, both could be really good. Bobby needs to continue learning the defense.

Robby has 1-3 round talent as a CB.

Anyways i hope they both stick around at least for another season, and wish Robby would put in work at CB, and see how good he could get.

With Mario anything is possible...........it is all for the team and the W......

Every player is a cog in the wheel........and this is pounded into the players...
More playing time is the carrot....but the stick is............ work like you want to go to the League...and we will help you....if you work with us on the changes made.

in this day of college football, if he wants to play WR, he will play it, whether it be here or somewhere else.

I agree he could help the TEAM more by playing CB, but if he doesnt want to do that, he can just transfer to UL or another school who will use his skill set.

Hopefully he's a team player and sees the big picture, cause as of now it seems like we have a log jam at the slot

The thing is he might help HIMSELF more playing CB. Maybe not immediately credited on his instagram account or ego bank, but long-term in his real life financial account. Tougher for a young kid, though. Hope he has some decent guidance.

unfortunate, @Lance Roffers .... but pristinely true.

the same way it's obvious to anyone with a pulse that Jacurri has NFL talent as an X receiver written on him in indelible ink, the same thing might be said about Washington at CB. Even if you have never seen the sport of football, you would still suspect there's something there.

sure, I have no doubt Washington loves playing WR and it's really fun for him. You know what else is fun? being an impact player for UM and having a really good chance at an actual NFL career.

sadly, too many of these kids can't see the forrest ..... because they are too busy staring at the mother fu%king trees.

The base's infatuation with position changes continues.

I respect your posts. But I don't really get this take.

We've talked about the option of moving Rivers to OG because NFL scouts say that's his money position, and we have a million quality tackles. If Mirabal wants him at OT where he's all conference, then no one rationale is going to gripe about it. But it's a worthwhile discussion topic. ****, even Mirabal said he cross-trains everyone as OL.

We've talked about Robby's move to CB because he's been third or fourth string slot and we know he has great talent and want him making plays on Saturdays. Last year, he was behind Restrepo and Smith and seemingly Ray Ray. This year, he's behind Restrepo and potentially Ray Ray and Carr. If that stays the case, and he's any good at CB where we are sorely lacking athleticism AND he is practicing at CB, why wouldn't we talk about that?

The only other position changes I've seen mentioned on here are things like safeties or linebackers to run nickel/striker, CBs to pass nickel, possibly Carver to DE. Richard Gordon to punt returner... Not sure I've heard anything else.

I disagree. I think his pops has been very supportive.
