So if the defender gets to a ball carrier from that kind of an angle what are the suppose to do? Wrap up and go limp?

That’s exactly what the NFL has made clear. I think it is clear - injuries although unfortunate, are part of the game.

NFL is about pts being scored because fans aren’t coming out to see 10-7 ballgames - they want 40-37. I get it as a way to give ur customers want they want and generate revenue etc etc but hate it as a pure football enthusiast (and ref as I anticipate this will make its way to HS/College ).
