Zion vs Johnson

Their DL is going to give our OL a huge problem unless we trap them to death. We can actually do this, but we use it as a sprinkle.

There is no reason to leave #11 or really any of our LBs singled up on Travis. Use KSmith or get creative and use Kinchens or AWilliams. Their offense is sincerely not complicated. If we get smoked in this game, it'll be one of the worst coaching examples I've ever seen.

They have no QB. At all. Even FSU fans I talk to say they expect this game to go pretty much how the 2019 game went. Close in the beginning then we blow it open late. If you dont have a QB threat, the defense pretty much shrinks the playbook for any OC especially in the 2nd half. The same folks who predicted we would lose the last 3 games will be the same "nervous Nellies" this week. Im not saying we blow them out like last year but we will cover whatever spread they throw out there.

Except Milton played the entire game on Saturday.
 
Johnson and Keir Thomas against our OL with the added factor of noise (if they show up - I assume it'll be the same Miami-FSU as it always is regardless of records) and hostile environment. How is their cadence with TVD and are we going to revert back to the constant false starts trying to cheat a little and without being able to hear very well?

Also, TVD on the road in his most hostile environment yet. I'd be shocked if he doesn't have a come down to earth game at some point.. and even with his insane numbers, the last 3 games have been won by a combined 8 points. There's no room for that to happen and to get a comfortable win.

I feel like we're gonna have to sweat it out another week this year. We sweated out a few last year too then put up the 52-10 showing.. i guess you never know with Diaz at the helm.

Even though FSU has been losing, their DL has looked so much better than ours. If we win in a blowout, i will be SHOCKED. I don't see it at all. I hope I am shocked, but with this team and coaching, I wouldn't be surprised with a loss. Disappointed (again) yes. But not surprised.

It will be. A handful of my FSU friends who only care about the team when it’s good are going up for the game. This is their Super Bowl.

I assumed it would be. I have no idea what their pulse is with Norvell and whether they're over it or not.

Correct. There is a massive flu making its way through college campuses in the south right now. It hit the gator hard as well over the weekend. FSU sent out an official communication I believe on Thursday essentially saying that the campus medical center is packed and only come if you have to, because so many kids have the flu. Travis had it bad last week and didn't practice much and obviously couldn't play. I'm sure he'll be well enough to play by Saturday. But it might be interesting to see how much it took out of him. Emory Jones, for example, tested positive for the flu but he played. Travis was apparently so sick he couldn't even give it a go. He might be wiped into this week as well and not be at full strength on Saturday, although I fully expect him to be available. But FSU and FAMU is getting nailed by this thing right now.

If you think this 2021 Manny Diaz defense can hold any FBS opponent to 14 points, I have some beautiful ocean view property in Tuscaloosa to sell you.

If Miami wins its like 41-31. We’re going to give up at least 24…lots of teams have gashed us on the ground and that’s FSU’s only offense. Conversely, their D seems to be too jacked up and reckless, acts like UGA plays like Presbyterian.…we should be able to beat them over the top consistently.

Good thing is TVD has already had two road tests. Granted none were 90k at Doak in a rivalry game. But at UNC and at Pitt I think were good warmups for the environment he is about to face.

You will be luck to have 55K at the game. My guess is they had 30 to 35K for the NC State game.

Most either don’t care enough to evaluate it, or if they are that type of fan, they are still holding onto their hope that he is their guy.

It’s a lot of sunshine and rainbows there due to hope or indifference, which is perfect.

I respect what Johnson and Thomas brings to the table but I think you guys are overstating their ability and underselling our tackles. They're both good, great in the case of Johnson, players. The strength of their D-line will be going against the strength of our O-line. We have two experienced tackles who both pass protect at an above average level. Also, in TVD I trust. F*** that bum s*** in Tally. Those our little brothers.

TVD gets the ball out quick and their secondary is trash.
