Zaquan gone

was in a black jersey during spring game, was really engaged with any teammates on the sideline either, stayed to himself

This is something that would have gutted me 2 years ago because he was such a high recruit. But these days, I presume he wasn't really developing and Mario, Harris, and Etheridge will backfill.
Easy to replace him when you can go grab a safety from a Jacksonville st who is much better.

FSU fans about to have a field day with this one, lol.
That’s about the only position they can recruit . I will give Surtain credit he can recruit . Our new db coached can too . I’m not worried about recruiting dbs this yea ro long as the new dbs coaches stay . Proably to allow for saftey and to small for old . I believe we’re recruiting dbs with speed who can play both cb and safety

****. Weird run out for his young career. Normally the guys who excel on special teams like he did in HS, usually pan out. How about Ivins first line in his profile write up “A hard-hitting defender that has played mostly safety on Friday nights, but could eventually grow into a three-down linebacker.”… seems spot on

My guess , we’ll go after this one

Patterson has made the decision to enter the transfer portal – he missed spring football with a torn ligament in his thumb suffered in the Virginia Tech game last year but is close to 100 percent off it.

Patterson and his uncle who is guiding him in the transfer process, Manny Rivas, told CaneSport this evening that they want the reasons for the transfer kept private.

“It’s just a mutual agreement to part ways,” Rivas told CaneSport. “Miami has been great to us, we love the city, have no issues with the staff, appreciate everything Miami’s staff has done for us.”

Rivas also says since Patterson’s decision became public “the phone has been burning” with third parties from programs reaching out to try and nab the talented safety.

“It just was not the right place, right time,” Patterson said. “It has nothing to do with the program. Mario Cristobal and everyone in that facility are great people.

I said that because back when Zaquan commited to us, ITU dropped a hit piece basically saying FSU portals over all of their HS signees and Miami is doing is the right way etc
They swore it played a huge role in him committing to us and then not even 2 years later, the kid has been portaled over and is transferring out…

They already have 2 threads on their 247 about this, lol.
