Zach McCloud

Redshirting him was a no brainer. **** many posters on here including myself were saying that in the Spring that they should do it. We will need him next year. I know people think Sam Brooks will be ready to take over the college landscape right out the gate against Michigan State next season but he will need time. And Steed and Jennings will be coming off injuries. We need an anchor.

Wonder if he volunteered to RS? Last player that I recall to do that was Daryl Jones back in the day.

Take the RS and run it back next year as the leader of the defense would be ideal.

But this is Miami, we never get the ideal scenario.

Hasnt he been on special teams in every game? Didn't pay attention this last one but I know he was in the first three. No redshirt option unless they pull him from that as well

Roster management has been a weakness for 15 years now.
Even bigger issue this Year
-extensive snaps for patchan
-extensive snaps for knowles
-ivey starting over blades after blades played well vs uf and has outplayed him every game this season.
- limited snaps for hill and rousseau
-Zion/Campbell starting at OT when you have an option like scaife who is very solid at the position.
- mismanagement of receiver snaps vs uf. In addition to formations sets starting 3 receivers under 6’0.
I’m sure there are more too

Can’t believe this Kid is just wasting away on the bench and manny won’t redshirt him or anything so this guy can at least be a contributor smh
Totally agree! It's not like he'd be picked up by an NFL squad if he left after this year, he simply doesn't have the resume for it. Unless there is some serious and powerful backstory demanding he leave after this year, it would behoove all parties for him to RS this year. He can come back, start as a 5th year senior, really show his stuff and mentor the guys around and behind him in the LB room.

Anyone with any good intel on why he shouldn't RS this year? Is there a reason why he MUST leave after this year?

Lol y’all so worried about Zach McCloud when he hasnt made an impactful play not even a big time tackle since he’s been here. If I was him I would transfer to a program that runs a 4-3 or 3-4 base defense maybe it would better suit his skill set bc this Diaz Baker bs doesn’t.

Made a big 4th down stop his frosh year against gt but nothing since, he supposedly had the biggest upside amongst the 3 linebackers, I’d redshirt him

Fans clamoring for Mccloud to redshirt and come back as a starter next year confuse tf out me, he's not good. We will be yelling for Manny to give reps to the young guys two games in next season lol

I refuse to believe this kid was a complete bust. And I’m not sold on any LB we have coming back next year until I see it in live game action. Not falling for anymore hype. We can use him.

He played against Central Michigan

Me neither, but Mccloud ain't it.
He looked slow and out of place when he played, in 2017 especially, there's a reason we created the striker position, we were exposed with 3 LBs on the field and he was the weak link

you cant play a 4-3 anymore with how the offenses are built now. crazy cane has stupid idea that the 4-3 works to this day. it doesnt bc 3 LBs would leave you getting smoked w how teams spread you out
