I went from Butch, to Patterson, to Chip. Butch assembled the teams that made me a fan in the first place, but I'm starting to realize that being out of the game for a bit, and now knowing that UM is actually shooting for the stars, Patterson and Chip are hard to argue.

offense **** would never win sec would anal rape chip like they always do too physical up front. not saying chip wouldnt win but he wont win a title and i want titles.

Cracks me up how people talk like Chip doesnt play defense. When you out talent everyone then anyone's Defense becomes god like even Chip's.

People forget that Elmer Fudd won the ship with Onion as the D cord.

**** Randy was considered one of the best defensive coordinators out there when he had all the Miami talent staying at home.

Not sure how that is not absolute proof that your looking at this all wrong.

Saban's D is god like because he always has the number one class.

Chip in Miami would give us top 5 classes year in and year out and with that Miami talent we would have a top 10 D and a top 10 offense almost every single year. Also dont forget Chip never even had a avg class rank in thee top 20. He could recruit from his toilet in Miami and have better talent than he did at Oregon.

Dennis Erickson never had good Ds except for Miami. Chip could run his exact D system with Miami players and it would be nasty. It's not like they were bad either. They were always ranked in the top 25 in D if I recall.

I guess Hue Jackson has moved from the unlikely category into the completely impossible category, and Chip has moved from impossible to unlikely.
Either way Those two are my top choices, and if we cant get those two, Im down to win some 'ships with Butch.

His roster management is awful, he gets rid of shady jackson. Dog sfla is filled with shady and jacksons everywhere and dont give me randy he couldnt recruit for **** just like ag. Butch would clean up like saban down here

If you look at his defense as a percentage of possessions, I think his D moves into the top 15 every year he was at Oregon.
you have to admit with how fast and good his offenses were, his defense had many more possessions they needed to stop the opposition than most other schools. And even with those extra possessions on defense, they still finished top 25 overall.

I picked Mullen.

He's the best of the realistic options, IMO.

Patterson and Kelly are awesome coaches, but I doubt either of them leaves their current situation.

Patterson has been at TCU since 1998 ... I don't see him leaving there, and i don't see him leaving Texas. He already has his team among the top 3 programs in that state, and in their conference. He knows he can win at TCU, no reason to leave. He's just got to stack his roster while Texas is down.

And with Chip ... I've read some of the narratives on why he ain't leaving Philly, and they make sense to me.

He was just given control of the team this year. To leave this season, meaning Philly has to hire a GM and a HC would be a slap to the owner who just gave him his wish to run the team. There is also the conspiracy theory about RG3 and Kapernick being available this off-season to plug in as his QB. And lets not dismiss the big issue ... I'm not sure any college team is paying him $7MM to walk through the door ... And that's what he makes, right now.

Kelly is the biggest name, and best fit for Miami.

It he were a legit option, he'd be my number 1 target. I just don't see him as a legit option.

So, Mullen is my pick.

1. Patterson
2. Kelly
3. Davis

(I'm still all in on BBB because I don't consider either 1 or 2 to be legitimate possibilities)

...Big Dropoff

4. Herman
5. Gundy
6. Mullen

Chip and Butch about even. Surprised to see Herman with more votes than Gundy and Mullen.

Some of the BBB crowd must be in a tizzy seeing as how Botch isn't ahead and are trying to rectify the situation by voting with new accounts just made.

I'm being sarcastic, at least I hope people aren't doing that or maybe I do. It's alarming that you have that many people who would vote for a CORCH.

IF, and that is a BIG IF, Miami is willing to spend some money then:

1. Offer Patterson (currently making $3.5 mil) Supposedly he had interest in the past and SELL HIM ON THE OPPORTUNITY OF WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP AND NOT BEING LEFT OUT.
2. Call Kelly and see what it would take and the timeline in which it could happen. Miami cannot afford to wait until after the NFL season and then losing out in a bidding war.
3. Call Gundy (currently making $3.5 mil and reportedly doesnt get-along with T Boone) and offer him. It wouldn't take long for SFl coaches to fall in love with him and his offense.
4. Keep Butch in the top 2 just in case. Would be fine with him and he would at least re-energize the fan base.
5. Call Mullen, who i dont believe to be the answer and hear him out.
6. Interview Herman to hear his sales pitch. I think Miami needs a FOR SURE HIRE and the others on the list are that compared to him He may be great but we're not sure.

As an FSU fan, the guy that would scare me is Winston Moss. If you make a checklist of everything Miami needs, he checks off most of them.

He's from S. Florida (would connect with recruits), defensive minded coach that doesn't accept mediocrity, was there at the beginning of the Hurricane dynasty, won at every level, look at the people he's been coached by and and coached with. And, if successful, he'd probably stay and not jump to another job.

Not that worried about Davis, Cristobal, etc.
Just my 2 cents.

So in other words do the exact opposite of everything you said?

This is case and point for the type of coach we dont want. This Nole suggesting him says it all.

Not sure why all the hostility? Was just giving my thoughts on the type of coach that would, in my opinion, bring Miami back to national prominence. Part of me misses the FSU-UM games between top ten teams.
