You'll love This Projection (6-6)

We're in serious danger of this if anything happens to Kaaya or any of the starting OL. Just saying.

Also, don't forget asteroids and outbreak of deadly plagues.
That would affect our wins and losses too.

How many teams are one OL injury away from a total disaster? Because we are.

My opinion is we've got 7 kids who are basically interchangeable. It's alarmingly thin after that. We still don't have a top shelf left tackle. We can lose one. Lose two and it's an issue. A lot of schools are in similar situations.

What a flawed metric to use to predict success in football. Using data from last season under an entirely different coaching staff to predict this years performance is frankly, illogical. ******* nerds.

I wouldn't go that far, Rok. It'd take multiple injuries to get us back to the place where we actually played last year.

Kaaya goes down and we are lucky to win 7
Quam and Grace get suspended for the season and our ceiling is 8 wins tops.

Just not enough depth on this team right now to make up for key injuries and suspensions.

No injuries ,no suspensions we win 9+

Every single team deals with injuries, and to a lesser extent suspensions.

Last season with a younger team, worse staff, and tougher schedule, we went 8-4. Kaaya got injured barely played more than a quarter against Clemson, missed the Duke game. Artie sat out a game last year I think vs. Pittsburgh, Coley and Berrios got injured early in 1st game, missed a few games each.

Bush and Carter got kicked out against Nebraska, and had to sit for a half against Cincy.

Gus was the #1 RB at the beginning of fall camp, ended up missing entire season with foot surgery. Gadbois, our starting RT, gets kicked off team I think right before fall camp.

Owens tears his ACL in 2nd game vs. FAU, out for season.

Gayot injures neck in bye week early in season, out for season.

Kirby tears ACL vs. VT, out for season.

Carter and Courtel get sent home from Bowl game.

So we dealt with ALOT of injuries and suspensions last season, still won 8.

What makes you think we won't have just as many injuries and suspensions this year? We have very ****** depth. I'm not expecting more than 7-8 wins, but hopefully I'm proven wrong

You know better than I would so I have no problem being put in my place here.

I like our starting five quite a bit but I haven't seen Gauthier or St, Louis play a meaningful snap so I'm skeptical but I should probably give them more credit.

The metric,by itself is totally flawed but Vegas pays attention to this.

"According to FEI’s current projections, Miami stands a less than 50 percent chance to win on the road at Appalachian State … and it gets worse. The Hurricanes are projected to follow that with five losses in a row, losing at Georgia Tech, to Florida State and North Carolina, and at Virginia Tech and Notre Dame."

I predict that we will start talking about planes and banners if that happens. The flaw is the numbers are based on Golden teams. I see Mark going into ND game undefeated(shaded glasses I know.)

I don't think AQM is in danger of being suspended for the year since he kept all of his receipts. Grace on the other hand........Hoping for a 3 or 4 game suspension at worse for Grace.

Obviously we can't afford to lose Kaaya. A rash of injuries to the OL, LB or DBs and were toast. But that's not news to anyone. We need to keep stacking talent and depth moving forward which we will. We need to win 10 this year to keep the recruiting ball rolling so staying relatively healthy is paramount.

I'm calling it now. We are going to embarrass ASU in their own crib. We're going to curb stomp those fools.

I do a college football pickem with my Miami buddies during the season and for bowls. I started feathering in advanced metrics as well as spreads and intuition. Advanced metrics are pretty solid for confidence intervals but only after the first several weeks of the season. Even the guys who run the numbers will tell you that predicting success off of prior year stats is grossly innacurate.

Hey, I'm not saying I *want* to go to where we were last year. But, facts are we played Gall at Guard extensively last year. Mcdermott was outside at times! We were a mess and sorta survived. A year's worth of work and new pass protection schemes and playcalls can only help. It'd take at least 2 injuries to get us back to that spot.

I don't disagree that the depth is terrifying, though. We don't even have "high potential" guys behind our solidified group.

We will have injuries and suspensions, just like last year...and we still won 8! that's my point. Also, do you think UNC, Duke, Pittsburgh, UVA, GT, VT, NC State, are loaded with a 2 deep on both sides? Every other team is going to deal with injuries, and off field issues too.

According to the article, Advance Metric uses the past to
predict the future. Not a valid prognosticater when you have
new coaching.

This team is considerably better from a coaching and conditioning standpoint and about the same talent wise.

Last years team won 8 games.

That is the floor this year. The ceiling is 10 games.

Someone help me here.

One thing we did lose from last year is experience on defense.
Having to depend on true freshmen linebackers and some inexperienced corners is a bit worrisome.
Our two starting DTs are in their second year.
We're putting a lot of faith in guys that haven't done it yet.

They didn't account for new jerseys either. That's worth 2 more wins right there.
