If you can't support the team while they go through growing pains and all you can do is whine about "You were right,we should have hired someone else" Please kindly leave your fandom at the door on your way out. And don't let it hit you in the rear. You may as well be Gators or Noles.

I don't care your reasons, or what you "THINK" you need to shut your pieholes, and get in line to support the man who IS our coach, who is a part of oUr history and legacy. No, things don't look great right now. But it is always darkest before the light. We have been pretty stinking mediocre since 2002, less one shining season in 2017. Things have to change and sometimes that is gonna hurt at first. Deal with it. If you can't, that's just tough.

It’s ok to be negative about the product on the field and the way it’s being coached and positive for the future based on Mario’s unparalleled recruiting ability.
This is and has always been the issue. When the team gets objectively good news and the response is to post something negative about MTSU, that's no longer being just a mope.

It's also possible to be positive about the recruiting success and maintain negative thoughts about the result on the field, yet managing those negative thoughts and emotions for a day or two, in order to really enjoy a major recruiting victory. If only for a moment.

Anyone drumming the "we lost to MTSU bro" drum last night or this morning is a miserable ******* who is incapable of finding and experiencing joy in the world (except, maybe, by pushing their misery with others). And I wish those types would find another team to follow.

If I wanna fly a banner that says “Josh Gattis is ruining this offense” I’ll do it.

All you sub 1,000 post sunshine slurpers can’t apply context.

We can criticize certain components of the 2022 team, but no one is clamoring for Mario to be fired

All these call out posts are funny. Saw a few last night…let everyone enjoy the night and the fantastic news. Yes the season has sucked up to this point but don’t be a slapdick and be that person who ***** on everyone for “being negative”

It's about compartmentalizing. This season sucks wholesale ***, but I wouldn't trade success this year for mediocrity the next 5.

Hopefully, 5 years from now we're all laughing about this season and listening to the gator's optimism about the new G5 coach they hired while saying, "Sure we lost to Bethune Cookman, but Mario lost to MTSU in his first season."

We can be critical of the current on field performance and be positive about anything that is positive. Focusing on one or the other is not being realistic or looking at things from a micro perspective.
Correct. My only rebuttal is what is all the criticism really achieving? I know it feels therapeutic to vent but realistically it does no good (in excess). This thing is going to take a while & Mario isn't going anywhere. Might as well give it time. (what other choice is there?!)

It's hard to watch the product on the field, when most believe the talent with both coaches and players is there. They are just round hole/square peg and this needs to be blown up, which is unfortunate. Most of us believe the staff should have and could have been more flexible. I am bullish on the next few years.

I can actually link threads where people are clamoring for Mario to be fired.

Naw, man, there's a simple answer for this.

We have a million threads on this board.

PLENTY of "but MTSU beat us" threads, if that's anyone's jam.

But when we get a "just got a verbal from Cormani McClain" thread, there's no need to infect it with other (negative) issues.

Lots of lanes on this board. We should be able to let people drive in the Cormani McClain fast lane without "but MTSU" bros cutting them off and running everyone into the median.

"Growing pains" you say? Per Google: Growing pains often get better on their own within a year or two.

2022 - 2001 = 21 years

Signed, Negative Ninnie.

There are most certainly year one "growing pains" for a staff that just took over Diaz's dumpster fire, on the heels of 7-6 that Manure inherited from Richt (who went 7-9 after his little miracle head start.)

2002 through 2021 have nothing to do with Cristobal or anyone else on this staff—so stop blaming them for every cheap and lazy hire that took place before this staff was at the helm.
