Somebody else pointed out the when when signed Golden is was him, the UCONN reject that ended up at Maryland, and somebody I cannot remember for the life of me as the finalists for the job. Schiano supposedly turned us down. Any of Mullen, old man Davis, or tired Richt is light years ahead of the candidates foisted on us last time. Except for Gruden of course...... BTW WTH, you've had it on lock down the last couple weeks.
 
Mark Richt is one of my favorite coaches. My concern is that we have seen his ceiling which is not good enough for Miami.
 
Richt isn't coming. Apparently DBC's info may be accurate and the DC position is a real threshold issue for Richt.
 
I don't think Richt has the drive or the motivation. Didn't he just complain that UGA people wanted championships? If he takes the Miami job it won't be because he's hungry IMO. That's a huge red flag for me. I don't want someone coming in on cruise control.

Get the guys that have something to prove. Mullen or butch

This. Richt just doesn't have it any more. I'm telling you guys, he's an upgrade over Schiano or Chud or Mario but he's below Butch or Mullen.

Hes not hungry. And when you want to right the ship that ain't the guy to get.

To my understanding he took his play calling away from him years ago. Why did he stay so long if he wasn't happy. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, he's good but I question his hunger to win at a high level

I actually see it as the exact opposite. If Richt takes this job it is because he is hungry. He could easily take a year off, relax, spend time with the family, go to church while collecting his hefty settlement check and come this time 2016 have his pick of job openings again if he has a desire to coach.

Instead he chooses to go to a program in a location that is the exact opposite of where he and his family have spent the last 15 years; a program that if you are a good coach you become a KING; if you are a fraud you will never coach again and be a laughing stock. I have reservations about Richt but a competitive Richt with more hands on control seems like a good deal to me. I don't think Richt will fall in the Coker, Shannon, Golden fraud category.

Miami can make Mark Richt a God **** king and give him the power he sinfully lusts after 24 hours a day.
