NOTES
- The thing that immediately leaps out is how thin 2009 was. Depth was fraught, with only 72 scholarship players on the team due to year over year attrition. Quarterback was down to just one player (Jacory Harris, with AJ Highsmith being moved to his backup). Cornerback had only five players, and offensive line just 11 players
- Shannon was unable to recruit anyone at wide receiver and cornerback in 2009 due to extreme oversigning the previous season (7 at WR, 9 at LB). The former was done in reaction to the very low receiver numbers that he inherited in 2007.
- 2009 Miami was an extremely young team. Only special teams, linebacker, defensive tackle, and running back averaged more than 1.5 years of CFB experience
- The 2024 Canes have 21 transfer players on their roster
- The 2009 Canes recruiting class had an average ranking for true freshmen of .8953. The 2024 Canes incoming freshmen average .9086
