You do realize offenses are going to score at some point. You expecting Diaz’s defense to hold every team to 0 points is Fcking stupid.
 
No one in their right mind can say our D wasn't freaking great. It was championship level ( top 5 D ) . Zero complaints about it . The only times teams score more then 1-2 TDs against us was when we turned the ball over on pick 6's or fumbles ect . Our D is flat out nasty. Literally if I hear or read people say otherwise I can write them off as trolls as there is no measurable by which Miami's D the last 2 years and especially this year wasn't the best since the mid 2000's .

If the offense had a pulse this year, those number would look a lot better. It would keep the D off the field all game, put our D in better starting field position, and it would force the opposing offenses to be a little more conservative in their play calling.

About the only thing I didn't like about Manny's D is that the first two drives we looked like we were going to get blown out. Then they'd tighten up around the mid 2nd quarter and hold pretty well the rest of the game.

GT threw for more yards in their last 2 games than we did. Let that sink in.

No it isn't. Your homerism blinds you to the fact our D looked very good to great against terrible teams
LSU, BC, FSU for 3 quarters, Wis repeatedly gashed the D the entire length of field, sometimes on opening drives.
Yes, the putrid O and special teams often put the D in terrible positions, so they get a "good" grade, because they often came through.
But not against good to half decent O's

Miami fans are the worst. Statiscally second best in nation and we we find reason to gripe. Had we had an offense with half a pulse we would have been number one defense.

And stop using the **** Wisconsin game as a litmus test. Those kids did not want to be there and did not show up. You can’t blame Manny for that.

Did you watch any football this year? We got gashed on the ground quite a bit by decent offenses.

Was it a GOOD defense...sure... but not great. Was it skewed a bit probably by the defense getting sick of the offense doing nothing and laying back? maybe....

But this was definitely a defense that played over its head with the loss of 2 starting DTs...without Willis, you would be singing an entirely different tune.
 
Both parties are looking at this as black and white.

This **** is fluid people. In the games where we gave up big points we were handicapped by our crap offense and the #2 ranking was sunshine pumped by trash opponents.

The defense was championship level in terms of yards per play and yards per drive. The only reason we beat FSU, VT, and Pitt were because of the defense. End of story.
 
Our time of possession killed this defense at times.
The opposing teams could run whatever they wanted. Guys we’re gassed. You see all Over cfb dudes faking injuries to slow it down.
Add insult to injury with our field position.

Our defense stayed on the field the whole game. I'll give you a good example: I'm a Ravens fan earlier this year I thought our defense was good not great. One of the reasons why I found out later was because they stayed on the field, because of 3 and out Joe. Enter Lamar Jackson the king of TOP, now my defense looks legit because they get rest and can get late stops in game. If you don't believe me just ask Baker😎

Having the worst special teams & offense in the nation normally would destroy a defense. It didn’t. If Manny hires a GREAT OC I believe this can work. Regardless he’s an upgrade over Richt. Very lazy UM hire but an upgrade none the less.
