Mario flipped that QB killer narrative pretty **** fast. And his Bro Ball monicker
5 games in a month and 3 on the road is just a tough challenge no matter who the team is or what the narrative is but I agree that the foundation of this team seems built for success. The offense being under so much pressure to score last year just led to everything feeling like it was always on the razors edge.
The Notre Dame game got close but it never felt close imo. Last night there was never a real threat. Totally different than last year.
When you see guys like Bain and Mesidor dominating. Chase Smith making plays. Popo playing solid etcI mean honestly, more than anything else we are just STABLE on defense. In all my years watching and being involved in football I've never seen such an UNSTABLE defensive scheme as last years unit. It wasn't even that guys were consistently losing their individual matchups and getting burned...it was straight up broken coverages and guys running completely free, unchecked.
Yes the influx of secondary portal talent no doubt helps....but I'm a huge believer in systems. Our new DC's system has completely stabilized not just the defense, but the team overall.
In all fairness, he did that **** against Florida too. The kid has no cojones.Bryum Brown has 6" and 40#s on the midget and he was sliding n **** on the first ****** drive.
