I posted this article in 2 different threads earlier. It’s relevant.

The committee has, is, and will do completely moronic, illogical, and flat wrong things. We’ve seen it, and are seeing it. Miami and ND shouldn’t have been as apart as they were.

What they cannot do is have them back to back in the rankings, with ND ahead. That’s not possible. So if you think they won’t drop BYU with a loss, to leave the buffer, I won’t argue. If you think they’ll move ND to 9 and Bama back to 10 if Bama loses, to leave the buffer, I won’t argue. But they will not, they simply can not, have ND 10 and Miami 11 when the final ink is dried.
 
makes too much sense

Too many opinions and feelings than hard facts being used by the committee. How you can talk out of one end if your mouth about a hard fought win for bama to beat a HC-less team at the end is good and then in the other end of it we got flogged for a nail bitter against VT while still winning by double digits

I agree with all your points

but I do think that with a close byu loss there is at least a chance byu stays above us to protect ND

I think with a bama loss there's a GREAT chance that ND jumps bama to protect ND

we need a convincing TTU win over BYU and a bama win

This is clearly the correct thought process. And if that happens, it’ll be complete bull****, and there will be a ton of outrage, but people will move on.

What will burn the whole thing down is ND 10 and Miami 11. They know they can’t do that.

If there’s anything this committee actually has done that’s made sense, it’s putting head to head teams above the teams they beat when they’re sequential.

Texas over Vandy this week
OU over Bama this week
Pitt over GT last week

Go Bama. Go Texas Tech. **** gets real interesting if that happens. It took about an hour after the rankings released tonight for the national guys to see this and write articles on it. You can’t have ND and Miami back to back with ND ahead. That’s not a thing.
 
Took weeks of lobbying and the cards falling into place. But it seems the consensus in cfb finally sees ND for what they truly are.
