Yahoo gives Diaz a D-; the worst of all 27 first year coaches

I can’t believe I’m diving into this but who cares? We had much more talent and cohesion than FIU, Duke or GaTech and earned crippling losses in each. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve a shot at his own recruits but in situations with such a big talent gap we sure didn’t show much.
I agree we should have won those games, but I'm not entirely sure we're more talented, I'm not talking skill positions, I'm talking offensive line. Those upperclassmen that came in against duke were some of the softest players I've seen. I agree that we should at worst be 9-3, but with him not having his players on offense I'm saying we shouldn't be as harsh as we are. The defense is still a top 25 unit and we all watched him at 1 point have the number 1 defense in America and those were his players.

we never had the number 1 defense. ever. just stop. hes a mediocre DC as well who stat pads against bad teams and gets raped by the top schools.

hes the worst coach we have ever hired by a wide margin.

I'm not trying to defend him. But the only recruit on offense Diaz brought in was Osbourne and he lead team in recieving. Zion nelson was signed before they hired diaz. If you look back to 2017 which was the best team we had in over a decade, you could make the argument that diaz was the reason we won. I know the argument that he was there, so he should know the players. But again what DC gets involved with offensive recruiting? So I don't think those are his players on offense. So even if we get mad we can't give Diaz all this blame, it's not like we had some high powered offense that he ran into the ground. We were pretty bad last year

2017 was honestly not that great of a team. I don’t see why people wanted to hire Diaz just to relive the glory of 2017.

Yahoo staff are muppets.

Manuela's "performance" can only be measured in negative numbers.

That's funny I asked for facts and you come with insults. If I'm wrong show me, I'll gladly admit it when I am. Ho across that entire offense and show me who Manny brought inWi
With the team he inherited we should have only lost one game on paper IMO. Enos should be fired, we have some speed at WR he slowed the game down so other teams took advantage. He didn't improvise he sucks and should be gone.

That's funny in 2018 they finished 2nd nationally in yards per game 15th in scoring defense, but that can be argued they always suffered from poor field position, number 1 3rd down defense, 12 in turnovers, 9 in sacks and 1 in havoc rate.

Neg me, but I'm still not off the Diaz bandwagon. I think hes a coach who COULD BE very good. But he has to be based in reality. He needs to fire Enos and Baker, at the VERY LEAST Enos. If he doesn't, that's when I'll know he isnt elite. The elite guys have no remorse and will fire whoever needs to be fired. I'll prepare my pitchfork for January.

I agree I don't like enos I think he fooled a lot of people, remember he was set to take over at Bama this year old Nicky dodged a bullet

He would have done fine at Bama with their offensive line and QB. We don't have either to play his type of offense.

Bill Bedenbaugh is only making 750k ya I know only 750k but we might be able to steal him for 1.5 or so. How much is Miami making in the ACC rights? Seems to me they could pay much better.

Breaking News!

Manny Diaz a bad coach?

Sauces say...yes.

We all know Diaz is the worst coach in D1 football, but it’s good to know many in the media also see it.

Yahoo is awful, but I’ll take any heat on Diaz I can get. They gave him a D- (essentially an F) for his performance this year.

What's their grade for Fake Blames?

D is far too kind. Diaz failed in every single area as a coach.

There is nothing Diaz did this year that should give a fan any hope.

I kind of agree after thinking about this for a second. If this is a D-, it must be on a curve, right? I mean, what's it take to get an F? Would you have to lose to Bethune Cookman? Even the least delusional, most level-headed, non-homer looked at this season, going in, and felt that 8-4 was the absolute minimum to not consider the year a total disappointment/failure. 6-6, with the talent on this team, and the schedule that we faced is completely unforgivable.

Yet, nothing is happening or changing.

F this S, man.
