XFL starts tomorrow...

Noticed Willis getting push but not penetrating. Not sure if that’s intentional or he’s being stonewalled.
That’s a good observation and a question I’m not analytically qualified to answer.

The awkward sideline interviews being one of those nuances in this type of broadcasting accompanying the startups that helps enlighten my perspective on what I’m seeing.

I mean.... ummm... I love Dwayne but.... Uhhhhh.... Think he made a bad investment here.... There's a reason these leagues fold early.... Saw nothing that made me think this will be any different.... It's Football I guess but geeezzz it's bad Football....

Most of what Dwayne touches turns to gold but this could be a bridge too far.

Really not sure why he would touch this, given how savvy he is + the graveyard that is non-NFL leagues.

Uphill battle. Everything from marketing to play to support. They are trying their best with a small budget.

Some of the colors and logos are ok but most look like they were produced by some dude on Reddit in another country for $100.

You've got to first start with likeability, something fans would want to wear. That's extremely tough with all the existing trademarks but they could have done better.

I would imagine that NFL practice squads would be more entertaining, they should have done that like the NBA summer league.

The problem with these startup leagues is they try too hard to mimic the NFL style of play. There’s only so many great drop back passers in the world and they’re all in the NFL. Just like there’s only so many great offensive linemen in the world. So you end up with a mediocre QB who needs to be protected by an even worse offensive line and it makes for bad football. They need to take a more college-like approach where they design their offenses around the players they can get. Georgia might be able to get away with bludgeoning opponents with a powerful offensive line and a stationary quarterback but 99% of teams can’t get those players so they have to try to score in other ways. These football leagues tend to try to make their offenses exactly like NFL offenses and it just doesn’t work. Like Gattis trying to run his Michigan offense with Miami’s offensive line.

They dont TRY to make the offenses....these leagues are coached by former NFL coaches every time so it IS nfl offenses they coached. They always go with those names...but if they went with exciting College guys with different schemes you would see better play.

I was going to add that. They re-hash these washed NFL coaches and those guys are just doing the same crap they failed at in the NFL

Watching the game now. League needs to be prepared to lose money for a couple of seasons. I think if it gets to Season 3 they will good for the long haul.
