Sure, but I’m not saying I thought he was going to be Aaron Donald (although I thought he might be pretty close)…but he did absolutely nothing. Couldn’t even make a team. I cannot possibly be the only one surprised by this. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

No you’re not taking crazy pills, it’s just you thought you saw an Elite caliber player, who wasn’t actually as Elite as he looked.

He played in scheme that best benefited his skills & elevated his productivity, but it wasn’t just because he was an all-world DT, it was because the scheme made him look like that.

Once he had to win matchups on his own without the benefit of being protected by an advantageous scheme, NFL scouts saw he simply wasn’t good enough to make a roster.

It happens more often than you might realize, a lot of players look like HOF’ers in college & then get to the league & just can’t hack it.

Look at how many times we see it happen going from HS to College..... Once guys stop being the "Best player on the field" and are now surrounded by equal or better players then we see what they're really made of..... A lot just aren't able to make the transition....

Bingo. First player that comes to my mind, even though he's in the league right now...former OK State WR and Biletnikoff winner - Steelers WR James Washington. Dude was literally unstoppable at OK State, got drafted I believe 2nd round and then seemed to just forget how to play football.

He seems to he figuring it out as he's still on the roster and gets some PT but imo that's more about saving face for the draft stock put into him so they'll give him every chance to figure it out....chances that other guys drafted lower will not get.

There are basically 32 NFL kicking jobs in the world. They don't get hit, really, so if you can kick well, you have your job for a long, long time. In order to break into the NFL you have to immediately show you are better than a seasoned NFL kicker. Tough. There are no backup spots, no developmental spots, no practice squad spots. It's binary. You can be the 33rd best in the world at what you do and work at a car wash!

Any Miami players in this first game? Attendance didn’t look very good for the first game but the real test will be seattle, st Louis, and DC. I remember they had really good attendance in xfl 2.0

The objective for the XFL since its reboot in 2020 under Alpha Entertainment (Vince McMahon) was to prove its viability and then achieve a partnership with the NFL and become the latter's minor league. The National Football League desperately needs a minor league for player development, particularly their younger quarterbacks. It's very likely that XFL 2.0 would be that minor league now if not for the pandemic.
