X’s future

His biggest weakness is that he’s not a great punt returner. That role is important to his NFL value.

As a WR, I think he’s better than Berrios. Significantly better after the catch.
Really eh. I feel like there is some recency bias. Restrepo still has a couple years to develop but by the time Berrios left he was **** near uncoverable

Berrios was very fast. a better punt returner. he excelled under real coaching with richt.
before that he was trying to be overdramatic when making catches.
All I know is we lose to UNC and FSU without him. On the final drive vs FSU in 2017 he saved the game for us, not only with the TD in back of EZ....but the 1st down catch on the final drive

C'mon man....
statistically. I think he can. Just look at our schedule, GT's D is garbage, TVD blacks out vs UNC and always throws for like 500yds...

Right now, Charleston Rambo has the single season record for receptions and yards with 79 catches for 1,172 yds

And Harkerson has the record for TD's at 13

X is probably the better receiver from a technical standpoint but BB is and was a more dynamic athlete. BB is faster… X maybe, slightly better hands? Not a knock on BB because it’s not like he dropped catches a lot. As stated previously, BB has the added value due to special teams.

X is putting together a helluva season so far. But let’s not look into the numbers so much that skill level gets ignored.

If we do that, then Mike Harley is the best WR ever at UM because that’s what the numbers say… nevermind it took him 5 years to surpass what others did in 3 years.

We suffer from the new shiny toy syndrome… badddddd!!!!!

I hope X continues to do X things. He is not the receiver the Berrios is in my opinion. He is not the returner. And **** sure not the athlete.

Berrios is not some feel good try hard receiver. He is / was an ELITE athlete. Cmon now.

Berrios didn't become a player until his senior season, in which he caught 674 yards.

Restrepo, as a junior through 3 games, has 340ish yards. Hes on pace to have a 1,300 yard season right now.

Restrepo is an inch taller and 10 lbs heavier. Berrios is faster though.

I think at the same point in their careers, Restrepo is more advanced and polished.

Not hating....just keeping it real. Not to reiterate but, go watch what Berrios did to FSU & UNC...Go watch his full body of work. Go watch what he did to FSU in 2017. Without him, we lose.
You’re not keeping it real. Before 2017 he had 3 seasons of being subpar. He stepped up his senior year, which was expected. Restrepo is in his 3rd year, most productive WR on the roster and number 16 in the nation in total yards, and number 2 in the ACC. Looks to me that there JR years aren’t even close. Now time will only tell, but if he stays healthy he is on pace to break Charleston Rambo receiving yards.

Think about the receivers berrios sat behind until he could really shine. It was harder for him to see the field compared to X.

1st rounder dorsett
NFL coley
Etc

College success does not always translate to NFL draft status. He is invaluable to us/TVD, but that’s not gonna make him a day 2 pick.

The most obvious comps are Berrios and Renfrow - 6th and 5th round picks respectively.

He could outplay his draft status (like Renfrow or Amon-Ra), but NFL loves upside and you get what you see with a lot of slot guys.

This. X is productive, but BB was faster, way better athlete, and more dynamic on punt returns. I think people forget how fast Berrios was.

And it took him 4 years to show it. Restrepo is showing it in year 3
