Tell me I am reading this incorrectly, we play AT FAU and AT Toledo in the coming years?????

This is a joke right? Who out of their minds scheduled this? Since when did we stoop so low?

I don't mind playing @ FAU...it's only an hour away, but I hope it isn't one of those ghey Friday night games

Playing @ Arky St. and @ Toledo is lame. We will probably buy them out to not have to make that ****** trip.

Why would we legitimize FAU?

No other major program would ever play AT a school like that.

Florida and FSU would NEVER

What "big name" programs play similar games? I can't think of any brand name programs that are playing away games vs ****** non-power 5 conference teams. Maybe I'm missing them?

Very weird to me.

Glad this is rehashed every couple of months. Maybe this should be a sticky up top:

We have no money.

Or, at least, not enough money to pay the lesser BCS teams to come and be sacrificial lambs.

Oklahoma plays at Tulsa this year

Stanford played at Army a few years ago...

Who gives a s*it? You guys would be complaining anyway it would be a noon kickoff and the stands empty if we played them here

Guysm guysm those are all real tough road games. I just hope they aren't night games.......

Playing at FAU saves us a lot of money with traveling expenses. Not much different than traveling to Sun Life, which is pathetic in itself. Plus, most the stadium will be Cane fans. Will be the biggest home field advantage we have had since leaving the OB.

[]_[] schedule a home & home series so []_[] don't have to pay the school to come play []_[]. A lot of schools do that now instead, BAYLOR just played at BUFFALO.

our season opener in 2003 was at louisiana tech and we were contenders back then. that's how schedules shake out sometimes. quit your *****ing.

Texas and penn state have played at ucf. Missouri, the defending sec east champs played at Toledo this yr. Teams are doing it now but I hope we don't go to arky st. Or Toledo. Can here the gator fans bashing now.

Actually might not just be about dumbing down the schedule. It's getting increasingly hard to schedule home-and-home games against top competition, since many top-BCS schools don't want to lose the extra home game.

Plus, there's travel costs to consider. If you say, fine, the Alabamas and Michigans of the world won't play us in a home and home, let's play Indiana, or Northwestern, or Utah, or some ****. Well, those schools actually take estimated cost for the away game into consideration, they might decline to play us and instead go with someone closer. So, we're left with the Arkansas States and Toledos of the world. A marquee name actually going to play at one of their dumpy stadiums has value in increased revenue, so they're more willing to do it, rather than take a $1 million dollar payday (a going rate that we simply can't pay due to our lease at Sun Lifeless) to go and lose in a one-game deal at one of the big boys.

Exactly the opposite. The dynamics of the "Strength of schedule" component to the new playoff system is going to mandate that your whole schedule must be filled with Power 5 teams or you wont stand a chance if you are on the bubble. (read Non-SEC with 1 loss)

It's a process. It's all part of Golden's plan of eventually going undefeated. Make all of our non conference games easy as sh*t.
