Spread offense. Quick game (quick throws).

Pressure (blitzing) + press coverage.

What team did I watch last night?

My buddy and I were kinda joking about this...but...I know the coaches say that they don't pay attention to the critics/fans/writers but you could've fooled me. Sure looks like they're paying attention to SOMEBODY.

OFFENSE: We went from being a power running team that utilizes a ton of 21 or 12 personnel to a primary spread team that gets the ball out of our QB's hand quickly. Total 180 from what we used to be.

DEFENSE: Last night looked more like a "Miami defense" than anything I've seen in 4 years.

Is this Coley's true offense? Was Golden handcuffing him because he prefers a power running attack?
Are Golden and D'Onofrio getting pressure from outside influences to change up the defense? Pressure from the kids perhaps? (I heard there was a huge fight between players and defensive coaches after last week's loss)

Somebody tell me WTF is goin on cause last night we saw what many of the fans have been asking for.

Like what I saw last night. We also tackled much better. I would hope they stick with it. However, Golden is super conservative. I could see them reverting to their old ways if a team gets a couple of long plays during a game.

Macho,
I think we all saw it last night. What kind of ****ed me off was golden's comment in the post game when he said, "We didn't change the scheme much, we just executed better (on defense)." To me, that statement doesnt qualify as coach-speak as much as it sounds like pathological liar type ****. Dude knew **** well that he got pressure from somewhere to change that defensive scheme but want man enough to admit they made changes.

For me, I want to see us run this defense against Va Tech and FSU. THEN I will believe that coach dorito might be a viable option here. Not a moment sooner though. Its easy to break tendency against lesser competition.

I don't know about the Golden handcuffing Coley, but someone needs to grab that little **** and explain to him that, When your RB is getting 6 yard on EVERY first down stop throwing the ******* BALL! That was the worst called game I have seen. It would've been judged harsher than the Louisville game had we lost. Just bone headed call after bone headed call.... We should have had 21 at the end of the 1st quarter. That is the type of play calling that USUALLY tires out our defense.....

Good win last night though. It is a good thing to see these kids still playing for AG. Because it will be obvious if/when the kids start acting like the fans and jumping ship...

I was on the verge of sending in my alum card until I starting watching the game last night. It was a breathe of fresh air, now hopefully the staff continues coach like they did for the most part. They still need get rid of those few times they reverted back to the lb covering the slot receiver. IT DOES NOT WORK!!!! on offense everything goes thru Duke, stop getting cute with the play calling we have horses to go a long way.

And do they stick with it now that they see it works?

Heeellllll no

It's funny AG does anything to save his butt buddy. I just hope Butch is coach by this time next year cuz I don't trust these coaches to coach well or recruit at an elite level to bring miami wea it should be on top of the cfb world.

to be honest in the 2nd half they did go to the running game mostly so the change was made at half but yes i do agree in the 1st half we threw too much when it was obvious they had no chance to stop Duke or to a lesser extent Yearby.

I hope that isn't Coley's true offense. If he had stuck with the power running game, we prolly put up 40+ on them.

When you're about to lose a cushy job bcuz of your scheme, you change it.

That's what happened. If we lose bcuz we're out there being aggressive and attacking, Golden keeps his job. If he goes out there with the same shut show he's put out the past 4 years, he gone

Nobody wants to lose a high paying job at a high profile school

I hope this guy was interpreting for them:

There was zero reason for us to throw the ball except for play action pass. Kaaya should have been under center the whole game and should have been student body left and right, park the bus, and give the ball to Duke, Yearby, and Gray. That would have given us 40 points at least.

If they didn't change their philosophy/scheme up, both Al and Mark would be linebacker coaches somewhere in about 2 years, and they know it.

It looked like there were some noticeable positive differences in the D last night.
Denzel still struggles in pass coverage. I would like to see him rush more and another linebacker in coverage.
Also, take into consideration Duke ruined multiple possessions from mistakes themselves. A better quality team probably scores on a couple of those possessions.
Add in Coley going away from the run game what seemed like the whole second quarter. We were inviting Duke back into the game.
