WTF are we doing?!?

And you sound like a guy who's never hired people to any meaningful jobs. This is how the process works. Many people can be qualified, but if they have stuff in their past that comes out later that's scandal-worthy and you didn't bother to check into whether it exists, that's a bad look. If they don't hire Jurich, I'm sure we'll learn why.

You think a UM admin would spend time on boards? Lol.
This university is backwards, sir.

Julio Frenk and UM’s administration are the epitome of failed leadership.

They should have already had a new AD lined up and ready to hire when they fired Flake.

The coaching carousel isn’t going to wait for UM’s stupid leadership to finally hire an AD, ultimately decide on Manny and then hire a new HC.

Although I 100% agree, could you imagine this board if Blake wasn’t fired yet?

Please don’t complain about Napier.
I'm not. Personally, I think he is a downgrade for them. My point and issue is, the constant disorganization. Florida, saw their guy and executed. They didn't eff around. They pulled the trigger, paid the money and executed. USC, two games in, recognized that they weren't going anywhere, pulled the trigger as soon as Riley's season was over and hit a grand slam. We acted late to fire Blake James and two weeks later no replacement and if the reports are accurate, few, if any, interviews have taken place. Jurich, a proven guy wants the job, no action. Lane Kiffin, a proven head coach and the best coach in Ole Miss history wants the job and will probably come at a discount, no action. How can any real fan of this program not be fed up with this horsesh*t?!?

So, your assumption is they have talked to AD candidates for the past 6 weeks and are just waiting on announcing the new hire for some unknown reason? I will go with the safer assumption that this administration will ***** up as they consistently have over the past 20 years, beginning with the hiring of Larry Coker for the head coaching job.

Speaking of which I read there are 90+ members in the BOT and there is no standing committee specifically formed to oversee athletics. No wonder we keep having this crap happen! How can you have the flexibility to make these types of decisions in a timely manner with that level of bureaucracy?
That's not my assumption at all. My assumption is they had someone put out feelers and that someone gauged interest, as the process normally goes. You don't get into real negotiations until you start targeting final candidates (and you don't have final candidates until the job is open) and you don't make an offer until you're sure someone is ready to accept. The only thing I believe has changed is the pool of interested parties. I could believe it's larger than UM expected, so they're just doing some additional vetting and such just to be sure on their end.

So many of you guys are upset because the school isn't moving at your preferred timeline. They're taking their time with the AD, that's a good thing. It doesn't impact their coaching search because the top 2 options for the school are still available. They're available today, they'll be available next weekend, too. There is no need to rush if there is not a consensus yet.
I sure wish people like you with common sense would STFU and allow the rest of us to panic and ***** and moan... Is that OK with you? Is it too hard to ask?

So Jurich had the job and was going to be announced as new AD, yet also hasn't been extended an interview.

There is so much **** being thrown around that at this point, just have to wait and see. Hopefully something happens tomorrow or Tuesday, because if Wednesday ends and we haven't heard anything...we juuuust might be dead.

Man some of you are soft AF.

yeah, not sure how what you want, we rushed the manny hire, now we're upset because this hire is taking too long ... i do agree, we could stomach the wait if the program had a history of good hiring, but lets let this play out
Agreed that they shouldn't rush this hire. The point many are trying to make is the AD job should have been made available in October instead of late November. As soon as everyone agreed that Manny was a bad hire and Blake shouldn't be given the opportunity to make another hire, he should have been fired and we wouldn't have to even worry about "rushing" the decision.

The ONLY, and I repeat ONLY, scenario where all this inactivity makes sense is that Mario is a sure lock and they’re forming a timeline that fits the, hiring the next AD, that AD fires Manny and Hires Mario after the PAC12 championship narrative. It’s been too quite in Coral Gables. Look at how the Riley to USC thing went down. Everyone thought LSU was the sure bet to land him and just like when you think it’s your wife’s personal trainer boinking her but it’s really the hairdresser you swore was ***, it was USC that came out from the silence and took him the second he was no longer in play for the Big 12 championship.

Seem like a case of certain groups who like to talk trying to steamroll every thing through and others putting the brakes on it. So while people who post on this board were told things were moving right along they're not getting the other POV from people who may have not been all in on Jurich or simply giving control over to the new money.
