WTF are we doing?!?

They have to get it right so if it takes an extra week so be it. The frustration stems from Blake should have been fired months ago and an AD already in place ready to make whatever moves they deem best.
Exactly. Never proactive always reactive. The AD situation should have been reconciled already. End of the year, boom Manny is gone, spot him the extra two million as you are flushed with cash, and get Mario, Lane (who is dying for the job), Petersen, Stoops, or whomever. USC did it, Florida did it, so will LSU probably. You know what that's called? Being ORGANIZED!

It also stems from the clear division, infighting, and politics that has plagued this program for decades. When outsiders can see it clear as day, god only knows how bad it is within the walls. These people deserve no trust or confidence in the ability to "get it right" and it only exacerbates the issues when things get leaked only to fall flat days later. I for one am perfectly fine with not being informed on things as long as there is legitimate planning and action going on to lead to results. The constant smokescreens, leaks, and orchestrated messaging (on the other hand) plays right in the line with the running joke University of Miami athletics has become.

The frustration is completely warranted, and these people deserve zero patience or benefit of the doubt. Un **** this situation or **** off.

I have twenty year of proof that says otherwise.

I'm sorry, but they've done NOTHING to get the benefit of ANY doubts. Every moment that passes with qualified people like Jurich out there just acts as a further reminder of the incompetence/apathy we're dealing with.
Jurich is so qualified that nobody else has offered him a job? As I've said previously, I'd be fine with Jurich, but given his history, you absolutely have to dig further into his background just to be sure there aren't other skeletons there. Doesn't matter that Louisville cleared him publicly, you still have to do your due diligence. That's just smart business. If he's not the guy and they actually are getting interest from current ADs at other schools, who's to say right now someone in that group isn't an upgrade from Jurich?

Someone show me where this buyout magically drops 2 mil after a certain date. This clown show program is not ready to play with the big boys if they’re worried about 2m. There is definitely a strong contingent backing Manny. Burn this program to the ground if the head lisp is back.

For a program that is on LIFE SUPPORT, yes he represents the ABSOLUTE BEST CASE SCENARIO for our AD search.

I know in this retarded era of cancel culture political correctness falls like acid from the sky....but sometime you have to do what's best for the PROGRAM and hire a guy who is actually QUALIFIED to do the job WELL.

You sound like a UM admin beta.

1. No guarantees in life. Mario may get a contract extension tomorrow or in a week or maybe an offer he can’t refuse from LSU etc.
2. It is not just about hiring the HC, that HC has to hire assistants as it is extremely rare for every assistant in a regime to pack up and move to the new job. As these coaches get hired faster they have time to grab the better assistants available. If we wait too long we will be employing Sisters of the Poor to coach our offense as Lashlee’s gone. A guy like Mario especially needs top notch assistants as he’s a gameday corch.
3. Recruiting. The faster we get a new coach in place the faster he can get to work with both High School and portal transfers. We have a **** ton of work to do to fix this team and cannot spare an too long.
4. The AD search should have been started two weeks ago, minimim.
1) If Mario leaves Oregon, it's to Miami or Alabama. Doesn't matter what any other school does or offers him.
2) Assistants come and go and several will leave their current jobs after ESD, so it doesn't matter there. There will be guys to get no matter when the new guy is hired
3) This recruiting class is shot. It's been shot. No matter when the next guy is hired, that won't change. The current roster of guys is so young that you can take a hit on this class, but you can't take a hit on future classes and the new guy will be hired within the next 1-2 weeks, so he'll have his chance at developing those future classes.
4) Lots of things should have been started, but again, hiring a new AD last week, this week, next week, has no discernable impact on Mario because his season is still going. He won't engage any serious talks until after the Pac12 CG.

You are going to have some posters portray the “be cool” role. They are going to claim everything is gonna be okay. Be the voice of reason. Thats nice. Just dont log off, drink and do domestic violence when Miami does what Miami does and you could have blew off some steam in here ahead of time.

So many of you guys are upset because the school isn't moving at your preferred timeline. They're taking their time with the AD, that's a good thing. It doesn't impact their coaching search because the top 2 options for the school are still available. They're available today, they'll be available next weekend, too. There is no need to rush if there is not a consensus yet.
Great porst. Porst less though and make us miss them

And you sound like a guy who's never hired people to any meaningful jobs. This is how the process works. Many people can be qualified, but if they have stuff in their past that comes out later that's scandal-worthy and you didn't bother to check into whether it exists, that's a bad look. If they don't hire Jurich, I'm sure we'll learn why.

You think a UM admin would spend time on boards? Lol.

USC making boss moves with Lincoln Riley. Florida gets Napier. We are standing around still with no AD and foolishly believing that lil Manny is going to lead us to respectability because some 18-22 year old kids of a 7-5 team sent tweets... unbelievable. I'll ask again, if money "isn't an issue" then WTF are we doing?!?
Blake was fired 2 weeks ago man... It's really not that long

You're assuming they haven't been talking to people via back channels since before James' firing was public. These things take time, even if it appears they're done quickly. Mario & Lane will be the top 2 options because everyone knows they're the desired options. Will a new AD want someone else? Possibly, but any good AD that comes in will know Mario checks off so many boxes for Miami right now, so if that AD wants someone else, they probably shouldn't get the job to begin with.
So, your assumption is they have talked to AD candidates for the past 6 weeks and are just waiting on announcing the new hire for some unknown reason? I will go with the safer assumption that this administration will ***** up as they consistently have over the past 20 years, beginning with the hiring of Larry Coker for the head coaching job.

Speaking of which I read there are 90+ members in the BOT and there is no standing committee specifically formed to oversee athletics. No wonder we keep having this crap happen! How can you have the flexibility to make these types of decisions in a timely manner with that level of bureaucracy?

yeah, not sure how what you want, we rushed the manny hire, now we're upset because this hire is taking too long ... i do agree, we could stomach the wait if the program had a history of good hiring, but lets let this play out
