WR Rashawn Scott

Always running 3rd team here, yet Folden made it seem like him missing this year was a monumental loss. Dude's got tremendous talent and will be another steal for some NFL team that shops at TJ UMaxx.

Scott not slow but I wouldn't say he is blazing.

Phillip Dorsett: 4.21 40 (4.16 best)
Herb Waters: 4.39 40 (4.33 best)
Malcolm Lewis: 4.43 40 (4.41 best)
Stacy Coley: 4.48 40 (4.40 best)
Braxton Berrios: 4.48 (O penning)
Garrett Kidd: 4.53 40 (4.51 best)
Rashawn Scott: 4.69 40 (4.64 best)
D'Mauri Jones: 4.74 40 (4.69 best)
Tyre Brady: 4.86 40 (4.83 best)

TIGHT END
David Njoku: 4.76 40 (4.67 best)
Chris Herndon: 4.82 40 (4.79 best)
Beau Sandland: 4.83 40 (4.82 best)
Clive Walford: 4.89 40 (4.83 best)
Stan Dobard: 4.97 40 (4.88 best)

RBs
Duke Johnson: 4.42 40 (4.33 best)
Walter tucker: 4.48 (Freshman time)
Gus Edwards' results: 4.58 40 (4.49 best)
Joe Yearby: 4.65 40 (4.62 best)

Scott is a good player but he is slower than Yearby (our slowest RB), that is definitely not blazing speed...

So Rashawn Scott is a kid that NOBODY wanted out of high school. I think we were his only major offer. Yet now he has people talking about how he's the most talented receiver on the team.

I wonder how some of you will find a way to spin this in to a way to hate on the coaches.

You know where I stand. This is more evidence that this staff is good at developing players, but their deficiency is in the x's and o's department.

Waters, Coley, Scott, Lewis, Berrios, Brady, Jones, Langham, Cager, Chatman

where's the speed?

Waters and Coley are very fast, don't compare Dorsett or expect anyone that fast please... that's a different type of speed...

Kid cant stay healthy for more than a game or two. I expect tue same next year. Why does this thread exist?

What has Scott done? Let him produce before we credit anyone with development. He did nothing in 2011, he was solid in 2012, he was hurt last year and this year. Before we credit anyone with anything, let Scott play first. Right now we are have a lot of unknowns at wideout.

Herb Waters: 4.39 40 (4.33 best)
Stacy Coley: 4.48 40 (4.40 best)
Malcolm Lewis: 4.43 40 (4.41 best)
Braxton Berrios: 4.48 at the Opening

Herb ran a 4.55 as a freshmen
Malcom ran a 4.48 pre-injury, he has regained his speed physically, he just needs to get it back mentally

Berrios time I do remember at the opening. He's fast and quick and can turn on a dime but he doesn't strike me as a hit him downfield/deep ball type. Move the chains, catches through traffic and screens.

I remember Waters times but he doesn't seem like a 4.3 guy. 4.4-4.5

Coley plays faster than Waters but Coley can turn and catch his acceleration back up in a split second.

I know that was the time swasey put for Lewis but he doesn't look 4.4 at all. I will repeat, doesn't look like the same player he was coming out after that serious injury. Which is understandable.

Herb ran a 4.38 pre-injury this past season. I clocked him racing our friend Shawn who plays DII

but he's got great long speed. and has more football speed. not every guy is a combine guy

Rashawn Scott had a great freshman season then somehow got into golden's doghouse during the spring of his sophomore year and has yet to get out. If I had to guess the future, I see Rashawn Scott making it in the NFL despite not playing much at UM. He'll be golden's next Luther Robinson.

He had a solid sophomore year. It wasn't great by any stretch. He rarely played his freshman year.

Average recruit and player to this point in his career. I'd expect much the same his last year, but I hope he can prove me wrong.

He does have good in game speed despite not lighting up the stopwatch. Good hands. Decent separation. Most physically compact WR on the team and he's just fluid at the position. He may very well be injured again but if not he's a guy to be excited about.

Very good NBA 2K player too.

Football isn't a 40 yard dash contest. We have plenty of good game speed WR's for next year. Give me a WR who can get off tight coverage, who can run routes and who can make tough catches over a WR who can run a 4.2 and do nothing else.
