WR options?

Good get for OU.

As we learned with Ward and last year, tough to grab WRs when you don’t have the QB yet. Still ended up working out for us (Daniels and Marion are good enough possession WRs) but not a path I’d like to preferably go down again.

Once again, receivers will land where they know whom the QB will be, playoffs or not.

Miami hasn’t gotten the message yet. We are too arrogant sometimes and we haven’t met our transfer portal SMU equivalent reconning to be more efficient, especially with no more spring portal window to rely on.

I hate to say this as people will get mad but look at how Indiana is moving, regardless of their needs compared to ours for 2026.

It’s about the process. They have a QB (need for us, WR (need for us) and a RB (not so much a need for us) and other players they have gotten.

They identified and got their main needs done in one day! They also played the day after us.

We need to be better. That’s my opinion!

Here we are again - 3 years in a row with no QB, WR, etc to speak on.

In the end, we may end up where we need to be but it doesn’t have to be this hard is my point 😂😂😂.

I hope we don’t have our SMU portal moments.

Do they have a QB? Is there much difference between Cutter Boley and Emory?

I don't think this staff values WRs that much, obviously they want good players, but this is year 3 that we are not aiming at top tier guys in the portal

Aside from more playing experience, you can argue absolutely or to be determined.

I won’t discount, however, that they have him a **** ton of money and wether we had a QB or not, might of not made a difference.

Only going by past comments from receivers (CJ Daniels going to LSU instead of Miami, Jeremiah Smith, etc) where no QB was in place when decisions had to be made by them.

I think it’s true that Miami values the trenches more so than receiver. But we also have our top tier receiver who I’m sure is getting new contract in Mali on top of the WR haul we’ve had, there is probably a limit on how much they want to invest in that one position
