WR JoJo Trader to Portal to NC State

I think he’s a good player. He’s one of those guys that needs to be at an NC State or somewhere he’s guaranteed a starting job. So he can get plenty of game reps and not lose confidence when he’s getting pushed or passed up by other guys on the roster.

I’d compare him to a highly rated baseball recruit who just needs more at bats. It’ll slow down for him and he’ll have a solid career elsewhere. Melo Brinson 2.0
Exactly and when he makes mistakes he won’t be pulled for long stretches because they don’t have the talent to be able to do that. He’s uber talented, I think he’ll eventually work out

That's not a good trait at a position where:

a) you're not on the field for every play
b) lots of plays are running plays where you run a decoy route or possibly block
c) even on passing plays, you don't get targeted the majority of the time

So the solution is to guarantee someone a starting position and then constantly tell them how wonderful they are, solely to maintain the "confidence" to do the one thing that the person appears to be good at?

Good lord, we'd have to hire a dedicated JoJo-whisperer to follow him around to give him Stuart Smalley affirmations...

That's a bit much, just to get 3 or 4 good plays per game.
I never said he was gonna be an AA or somebody we’d wish we had back. I simply said he needs to be somewhere he’s guaranteed playing time. He’s not the only guy who operates like that. It’s quite common for recruits to struggle when they’re use to being the best and now they aren’t.

BTW he was fine blocking later in the year. He got effort and that part of his game right. He lost confidence in his hands.

Go **** yourself. I'm not making the comparison. The laws of all 50 states ARE.

Impairment is impairment, under the law. Doesn't matter if it is alcohol or weed. There's not some special test for "guys who can smoke weed and drive better".

You are such an unintelligent person, trying to make this about people's personal views on weed. My family is from Amsterdam, I could care less if you smoke weed every day. Do whatever you want, as long as it is legal and doesn't hurt anyone else.

But you can't ignore the fact that it is against the law, in the United States, to drive a motor vehicle while having weed in your system. If you want to advocate that our football players should be able to smoke weed, drive, and get into accidents with no legal repercussions, that is up to you.
Fúck you and I don’t care about no law nerd. You can’t name one athlete that’s been in accidents because of weed. Athletes in the 80s was doing cocaine. LT was smoking ****** crack. And im done talking about it

The weed and sports discussion is very interesting because i have seen and heard pros/cons on both sides of the debate throughout my life. I've also read numerous studies with conflicting data (some even showing CBD is better than TCH for sports).

I'll say this - some kids who routinely smoke before stressful events can become dependent on it. By that, i mean without it, they are anxious and can't focus.....and drops are a focus/concentration issue. In college i knew someone who smoked to study, calm his brain. He also smoked when he was nervous. His usage became a crutch, where he couldn't focus without out....and just the idea of not having it for those situation made him more anxious. With weed being his easy button, he never learned other coping mechanisms.

When it comes to sports, some guys might say they play better smoking bc they feel less anxious and focus better, reducing the outside noise. But it can come with downsides like motor function or cardiovascular/respiratory impacts. I've seen both sides in my playing days.
How does anyone play high on weed??? Weed puts me to sleep. Granted it’s indica for me and not sativa but still, I couldn’t imagine trying to do anything on it.

Wait, you think it’s ok to smoke (or eat) weed and drive? If so, that’s absurd, and I use weed nightly.

I was a big fan of Jojo. He plays smooth and has good feet.

But he's shown he's more flag football and 7 on 7 than a football player at this point. The physicality seems to affect him, which is kind of a problem at this level. We've seen him in several situations drop the football when a hit is coming. You can get away with avoiding physicality in high school when you're playing some smallish corner that won't ever sniff college ball, but at this level, the defense is trying to hurt you. He just doesn't seem comfortable with that element. And again, that's a problem. Reminds me a little of Mark Pope in that regard.

True story. When i was at UM it was in the early 90s and Sapp would come to our frat house on san amaro and look for one of our brothers and they would smoke weed everyday before he left to practice. That was everyday…so it worked for him doesn’t mean it will work for anyone else

NC State or SMU?

Not surprised but bummed. Thought he would be a star here. Might be somewhere else but something was missing when the lights were on
Said it day one that he would be a regular depth wr. We already know who the crown jewel on that Chaminade team was. When we didn’t get him I’ll be honest I didn’t care for the rest. This is exactly what I thought would happen but understood the take.

I thought he blocked with great physicality

Didn’t say it was ok. I’m simply stating it happens everyday. There are literally people who are driving down the road and smoking while they are doing it. There have been guys that have come out and said they got high before every game. We don’t know the details of the accident and what happened

Wild. It puts me to sleep. Regardless, I don’t want a high surgeon or dentist working on me. I don’t want a high pilot flying the plane I’m on. Driving under the influence is just as it reads and not acceptable, and the laws treat it similarly to alcohol in this regard, as they should.

I’m amazed that there are people who can function publicly on weed. I freeze up in couch lock. 😂

He has talent. He was good before he went to chaminade. But unfortunately he went there and is going to always be compared to what smith is doing or has done by this fan base. Can’t expect him to be that. Smith is a different animal. I think he can have some success at ncst

It's impossible to converse with him.

NIL agreements are written with language that says a player can lose his deal for being arrested and charged with a crime. The law is the law, if @252cane wants to change the law, then go out and change the law, but for now we are stuck with what we have.

He's gonna keep pontificating on how he can smoke weed and drive. He doesn't care how weed impacts anyone else but himself.

I think he can have success as well but nothing as to what UM fans thought. They expected something like Toney which was unrealistic asf. And they kept on thinking he was that type of first round wr, when he never was. And if you said he wasn’t you did not know what you were talking about. I just thought it was one of those easy ones to see, cause the fan base’s expectations were not real. He never popped off the screen like that, every time I saw his highlights on hudl I would watch 4. It was probably cope by the fan base for losing 4.
