WR JoJo Trader to Portal to NC State

If you think the reason ppl thought Jojo trader was going to be an impact player is bc of D$ you need to get off his **** and get therapy.

“What matters is catching the ball with two hands and doing it with proper technique and showing it on game day which is something JoJo never did”

Lmao Another made up quote that has nothing to do with reality. We all have eyes and saw jojo trader make a catch with “two hands” and run it in for a TD from Cam Ward. He made a couple nice catches in games this season and made enough plays during practice for coaches to believe in him as well. Lmao clown acting you’re a WR guru why bc you played football?? Lmao 🤡

@NicKane, will you be responding with the word “Sport”?

I don’t think he has bad hands. I think his problem was focusing and pressing. If you look at the drops he had just about all of them he wasn’t looking the ball in. He was turning his head trying to make plays before he had the ball. Think he was pressing to make plays because the lack of pt. I wouldn’t be shocked if he does well at ncst if he ends up there

Kinda what I was saying earlier.

I think he’s a good player. He’s one of those guys that needs to be at an NC State or somewhere he’s guaranteed a starting job. So he can get plenty of game reps and not lose confidence when he’s getting pushed or passed up by other guys on the roster.

I’d compare him to a highly rated baseball recruit who just needs more at bats. It’ll slow down for him and he’ll have a solid career elsewhere. Melo Brinson 2.0

Lmao talking about a catch last year from Cam Ward. Get real dude, I’m gonna break down the facts for you of what he showed on the field this year. His route running was bad, his technique was bad, and his effort was bad on big time catches. SMU anybody! Those are the facts if you watch film. Now if you want to continue to stroke him off, well then follow him to NC State and you can stroke him off there. But what I just listed above is what he showed on the field this year from a pass catching standpoint. Oh, and let’s not forget how he wasn’t doing the right thing behind the scenes and putting in the work in strength and conditioning and film room and all the other stuff you’re supposed to do if you want to be a big-time wide receiver in this game. Let’s not forget about that sport! That last sentence is for you, buddy @RVACane lol

So he needs to be coddled in order to have any type of success?

I guess he can start polishing his LinkedIn because he's not talented enough to be coddled at the next level

Ok? I’m not sure what the NFL has to do with his college career.

Call it coddled call it whatever you want. Some guys have to be on the field or they aren’t engaged.

I mentioned the NFL because I'd imagine any guy playing at a big school/conference has their sights set on doing this football thing professionally.

But sure, let's forget about striving for that level. The fact an athlete needs to be treated with kid gloves to ensure he is not mentally checked out is the type of guy you don't invest money in. As someone above said, development is the responsibility of the individual player.

Jojo has talent but he seems to lack the mental part of playing football - doing all things necessary to put yourself in a position to capitalize on your talent.

In terms of coddling, I'd say Mario and staff did more to keep JoJo's feelings from getting hurt than they probably do with most guys. But if Jojo isn't going to take advantage of the many opportunities the coaches gave him, then that's on him.

I'll be transparent here, JoJo's half-assed effort on the SMU int soured my view on the guy. That one play (cost is an int and more than likely the game) to me tells the story of who Jojo is as a player

Alcohol and weed are not the same. That was a terrible comparison

Go **** yourself. I'm not making the comparison. The laws of all 50 states ARE.

Impairment is impairment, under the law. Doesn't matter if it is alcohol or weed. There's not some special test for "guys who can smoke weed and drive better".

You are such an unintelligent person, trying to make this about people's personal views on weed. My family is from Amsterdam, I could care less if you smoke weed every day. Do whatever you want, as long as it is legal and doesn't hurt anyone else.

But you can't ignore the fact that it is against the law, in the United States, to drive a motor vehicle while having weed in your system. If you want to advocate that our football players should be able to smoke weed, drive, and get into accidents with no legal repercussions, that is up to you.

That's not a good trait at a position where:

a) you're not on the field for every play
b) lots of plays are running plays where you run a decoy route or possibly block
c) even on passing plays, you don't get targeted the majority of the time

So the solution is to guarantee someone a starting position and then constantly tell them how wonderful they are, solely to maintain the "confidence" to do the one thing that the person appears to be good at?

Good lord, we'd have to hire a dedicated JoJo-whisperer to follow him around to give him Stuart Smalley affirmations...

That's a bit much, just to get 3 or 4 good plays per game.

Maybe who knows but yeah the 2's on offenses will beasts like j Smith hogging all the attention in HS never seem to pan out. But I think he can still be a big number 2/3 Contributor in an offense like nc state.
NFL GMs evaluating Carnell Tate will still **** this up

The weed and sports discussion is very interesting because i have seen and heard pros/cons on both sides of the debate throughout my life. I've also read numerous studies with conflicting data (some even showing CBD is better than TCH for sports).

I'll say this - some kids who routinely smoke before stressful events can become dependent on it. By that, i mean without it, they are anxious and can't focus.....and drops are a focus/concentration issue. In college i knew someone who smoked to study, calm his brain. He also smoked when he was nervous. His usage became a crutch, where he couldn't focus without out....and just the idea of not having it for those situation made him more anxious. With weed being his easy button, he never learned other coping mechanisms.

When it comes to sports, some guys might say they play better smoking bc they feel less anxious and focus better, reducing the outside noise. But it can come with downsides like motor function or cardiovascular/respiratory impacts. I've seen both sides in my playing days.

Worth pointing out that the law being blindly naive in conflating the two makes your observation more on the nose rather than less.

Got to respect Mario and the staff by not just burying the kid and spinning this into a concussion thing and not that he was smoking da reefer breaking team rules and was suspended while also concussed or whatever. Gives him a better chance to land on his feet. Good PR & when he doesnt owe JoJo ****.
