Perryman: "It's not [D'Onofrio] man. I ain't going to lie. I try to ignore the outside noise, but when I hear stuff like that it bothers me"

Stockholm. Poor players.

Exactly what I was thinking!

What can we expect him to say? "Our Corch is a dumb ****. I'm going pro after this season regardless. Fvck him and Al."

After they get **** canned you will hear players swooning over the new defensive system and giving their real feelings on the old one.

Yeah but they will probably be correct this time.

I've never seen a D1 team that cannot execute a simple safety or corner blitz. Absolutely horrible to watch cuz you know their not going to get to the QB.
I know. This was an issue under the previous regime as well. They look like the keystone cops out there trying to execute a safety blitz. Our DBs run directly into the LOS and never get to the QB and it is never disguised.

Are you talking about Deion blitzing and not getting near the quarterback on the NU TD pass?

i never hated a coach in my life...whether it was high school football from my alma mater, the Canes, or my pro-football team...but I can go on record and say I really, truly do hate Al Golden and Mark D'Onofrio. They say it begins and starts w/ me, but then try to publicly humiliate players not accepting any responsibiliy. Like why is Fentress getting so much burn? Why is TH3 not starting? Why are Safties CONTINUOUSLY 15 yrds away from the line of scrimmage when it's an OBVIOUS running play. Why are you not trying to take away the run and have the qb beat you w/ his arm? Why are D linemen engaging and instead of swimming to the get into the back field? Sheesh.

Three possibilities come to mind:

1. The scheme works in theory but not in practice. Or if you want to get cute: it works in practice but not in actual games. For instance, maybe it is too complicated for college players. It needs 11 guys who fully understand the defense and can execute it without hesitation. But instead, there are only a handful of guys who have reached that point. The rest are hesitant, are thinking too much, and this in turn leads to a breakdown in fundamentals such as good tackling.

2. The scheme should work but the coaches have failed to properly teach the scheme to the players.

3. The coaches have failed to bring in the right players to properly execute the defense.

Whatever the case, after 3+ years it falls on the coaches. If it hasn't worked yet, why should we believe it will work next week or next month or next year? There is always going to be a mix of experienced and inexperienced players, and there will always be deficiencies somewhere with regards to personnel that a coordinator will have to find ways to work around. Coaches that fail to adjust are coaches that will fail.

D'Onofrio said after the plane landed Sunday morning at around 6 that he stayed at the office all day ... and he didn't sleep on the plane as he works to get this fixed.

and he still will give up 500 yards and over 40 points

D'Onofrio said that Duke does some of the same things Nebraska does in the run game.

we phucked

D'Onofrio said he doesn't think there's a big difference in UM's 3-4 vs. 4-3 attack in terms of results

they are out of touch and are not willing to change

Philosophically a lot of it's the same," he said, adding that "We just have to continue to move forward. There are certain things that we did well in the first three games that we didn't do well in this game. We know we're capable of doing that. We just have to do it more on a consistent basis."

3 years later and that's the best you can come up with

DT Michael Wyche remains mired down the depth chart.

you coaches give too many days off....this young man should be way ready by now.

Poor dude can't even do simple math. How do you have someone available to make a tackle when you have 6 in the box vs 8?

You remember when FSU brought in Jimbo to be coach in waiting under Bowden. Bowden wasn't on board with it but they still did it. Blake James need to get rid of No D and hire a DC, since as Golden is not capable of hiring a competent DC. Tell him he has total autonomy over the defense. If Golden doesn't like it, he quits hence forfeiting the buy out. Or we can come to a settlement and pay him half and be done. Simple. It's time to get rid of one but hopefully both

You have to look at Golden's contract. What authority did the U give him with respect to hiring and firing. Could be a lot worse than you think

So u think Golden would have more authority than Bowden? No way. I'm sure they tell them they have the authority to hire and fire who they feel. But if it's not written in his contract, they can get rid of No D no problem

I don't know what it says.

If allowed, fire D'Nofrio. If golden quits because of it, no buy out.

But we don't know what the U agreed to.
