That is the issue many have overall. We are not serious. We were not doing a search to see if Lanning was available or anyone for that matter -- it was, by all accounts, Mario or we keep Manny... that is not a serious program.

He could be but he took over a stable team left him by Mario. Is Debor some great recruiting or is he living off Saban's Bama dynasty rep? You don't know, he wasn't bringing in any top classes at Washington.

I personally do not think Lanning is this great recruiter compared to Cristobal. I think he inherited a team that was better prepared to continue winning which kept recruiting rolling. Cristobal problem, I keep saying is the horrible hires.

You are very focused on the collective. You must contribute a lot to the collective. With the high numbers available to Mario, do you feel a class of #13 and a failure to field a defense last year is worth that investment?

They had a single double digit win season in the past two decades. Unless the argument is one 11 win season > two 10 wins seasons than they have not had more success.

They won double digits games under Sumlin, a Heisman trophy and they won the OB under Jimbo in covid. It's some sort of success. I think if we keep putting together similar seasons to last or even more success like a ACC title for the next couple seasons, it will change our perception alot. We are not toppling the teams off the top 3 or 4 without on field success. LSU has had more success than we have recently and they are struggling to knock off the top 4. My mind has simply moved from worrying about recruiting to what we are putting on the field on Saturdays. I think that will fix both issues at once

Agreed. I was going to bring that up along with the nepotistic tendencies among many other issues but decided to keep it brief.

One of the good things about Mario is he unlocked the money. I doubt it stays after him but here’s to hoping.

I think MariBros will perpetuate that rhetoric, true or false, to keep him around as long as possible and create the narrative to keep accountability off of him.

I respect your consistency in hating the program and the coaches. For someone that is so disillusioned and hateful, I find it hard to believe that you actually go to games. What do you do at games? ***** the whole time? Like you do here.

LSU without argument has had more success. That’s not even debatable.

why u so mad that I have a different opinion than you? Im a fan like you but I see what other big tier teams are doing. I mean I have to see the competition and what they do I cant just look at the Canes. Cause then I will think we get the best all the time like other fans who wear OG glasses. And what does you buying a bag of Hurricane potato chips make you a bigger fan than me? Bruh we root for the same team and like you said we all have opinions. I am not mad at your opinion I just probably disagree, dont be goofy brodie. Its not that serious, we will all know when we play top tier teams (If we get an opportunity) And emojis after sentences doesn't make anything funny bruh, you swinging and missing on this one bruh, you basically answered your own question about everyone having an opinion. In 2023 we had a better class. (7th vs 9th)

In 2024 they finished 3rd and we finished 4th.

In 2025 they had a much better class so i'll give him that but they also had a special season. (5th vs 14th)

This year we have a better ranked class at the moment and Lanning got his s.hit pushed in for Cantwell.

He's recruiting at a slightly better rate since taking over Mario.

They also moved to the Big 10 and we're still stuck in a s.hitty conference and haven't won **** in decades.

That to me tells me Mario is a better recruiter. Lanning is a way better coach though

Exactly. If we are not in the conversation for the big prizes in January, it's gonna be hard to be in the conversation for the big prizes at the prized positions on signing day. It's off-season so I know its recruiting season but the critical eye is now on what they put on the field.

This is true, that thing Saban built helps because that structure of bags is still there. That did not go away

4 if you excuse his mulligan class, otherwise he's on class 5 and his DT and S haul are almost certain to be way below expectations. I didn't really get too concerned about the drop to 13 last class, given the winter portal was fuego. I look at it holistically. Still think he's stacking outside of DT and S. But I know where you stand. I can't argue with you. I just see it differently.
