Wow! Koi Perich to portal

TT had a mediocre QB
That is what did them in
They shut down Oregon offense

W top QB play they can beat anyone
Like i mentioned earlier they got a taste this year
Learned some lessons
And
BOOM
Their actions are speaking loudly they are in it to win it and are pot committed!!!
you been saying the same sh*t all year an what i told you from the start happened to them.

I also told you we would beat them as well still waiting for you to believe.

Their best hs recruit is busy getting his *** handed to him at the navy all star game and their second best ranked player is a reclassified DL who you never know how it goes with the reclassified especially trench players.

I’m hoping Mario took note of the c
Mario also has a lot of talent that he's trying to keep. It's not just adding new players, but retaining what you have. Those 2 teams don't have the same quality of players returning IMO.
People stressing and I get it.
But putting things into context, how
Much would Fletch or Malachi be getting in the portal? What about Pringle, pancake?
Scott? on and on.

Easy schedule
My son is ****ed due to mediocre home schedule and OOC
They likely will be undefeated up to B12 championship…if that still exists

Good QB play by Sorsby will make them competitive v anyone imo
Morton killed them in Orange Bowl
Is the goal getting to the CFP or winning a title or at least a CFP game or two for Tech?
Cause the dog**** schedule they play is good to get to the CFP. It does jack **** to prepare you to win a CFP game. Because beating up on the B12 and never getting a taste of what a true championship competitor team would be isn't exactly helpful.
And you can spend a **** load of money all day and double what like 90% of the teams in the B12 are spending on NIL compared to TTU, but if it isn't paying off in terms of CFP victories, it's not a good strategy. Though maybe that strategy is to do that until they get into the SEC or something? In that sense this is an obvious win and "worth" the investment.

Otherwise ultimately Texas Tech is going to have to actually recruit and Develop HS far better - especially OLine and DLine. QB, WR, DB in portal seems fine strategically. But ultimately if you aren't recruiting and developing trench play at a higher level, it's not going to end with CFP wins imo.

100%, while its cool they are spending and becoming somewhat of a player, they are a joke being in NC talk anytime soon, they will have to start recruiting and developing, the portal only model, will backfire fast anywhere, but imagine his son being at TT right now, has to be exciting.

They have the money and resources to recruit better if they can put a few good seasons together, now the development part?, who knows

they had way more issue than qb. None of their rbs would play here in our rb room....their ol....they looked like they didnt even belong against oregon who really played a sh*t game.

they play in the big 12 which the acc is better than talent wise but yall dont like to hear that for whatever reason. They could buy all they want to be food for the other big dawgs if they make playoffs.
Exactly! Someone has to be a loser in every game. Some one has to be a favorite. Just like there are bottom dwellers in ever conference, there are bottom dwellers in the 12 team field.

So? Texas Tech only started committing serious resources to player acquisition last year . . . it's been 1 year.

Despite consistently good recruiting, it's taken Mario 4 years to get to the semi-finals.

I'm not knocking Mario. Point is, it might take Tech a few years before they get over the hump. Just because they didn't in year 1 doesn't mean they won't in year 2, 3, or 4.
Problem is they lose most of the players every year. Mario built a team and has bullets in the mag already. Now he just needs to supplement with the portal and he presumably has quality depth via Hs recruiting. TT ain’t paying top dollar for back ups. They been crooting though so they could build their way to stability but when you are paying for mercenaries and top dollar guys who aren’t about the process you end up with a team that may fold on you when **** gets tough. Think Jimbos A&M teams. Character evaluation still matters that’s the next hurdle for TT. Playing a soft schedule with mercenaries can set you up for playoff failure will these dudes prepare like champions and respond when they get punched in the mouth.

It’s gotta be Mario thinking he’s got a legit shot to win it all and is primarily focused on the game. I hate to question what we’re doing but seems like we have minimal interest in the big names from the portal. I can understand passing on some of the QBs and other high profile potential drama queens but this one in particular is puzzling to me.
Mario has an on off field staff in charge of this that you can guarantee is working. And the memo has been lock down info. Follow the tea leaves. Has anyone mentioned anything about Raiola or the USC receiver? Hmmmm… wonder why.

Oregon 13-0 just to get bounced in round 1 last year too. Teams will improve
Lot of things change next year meaning . Acc and sec go to 9 conference games so I wonder if the big 10 does too . Lot of teams get in off luck of the draw the other way imo . If it was 9 conference games some of those sec teams don’t get in this year . Oregon prob has two losses this year if they played Ohio state too . Kinda like Duke making the acc championship game off bs . We played them we would have beat them head to head again

Big 10 has already been playing 9 games

I don’t disagree w that assessment
TT has to start somewhere just as every other program
The vision and $$$ and facilities are now at a level where 8-5 seasons aren’t acceptable.
They are looking to break into the top 10 and be a program who can compete year end year out
It may take a few years but I believe they will get there.
We can revisit this next year and year after…we will see if their strategy works.

One thing I would change w them is OOC schedule…I’m interested to see if they level up and take on more than they have to date as to me it only helps them in long run👍

Yep this was a taste for them similar to us. Their hs recruiting needs to step up a bit...and it appears they arent really evaluating....they are pretty much throwing money at "rankings" in hs and in the portal.
They landed sorsby and are i think expected to have maybe a juco qb landed as well..is will hammond good solid?.
