Looking at highlights from 2024 when heatherman was there it seems he was playing safety. Didnt ever see him lined up at nickel. Again it was just highlights.

I think he would be great in the slot. His can fit the agent 0 role very well.
 
I don’t know how he played this year at Minnesota, but he excelled as a true freshman under Heatherman‘s coaching. Koi sounds like a fit for our defense. Our players thrive off competition and I don’t believe any player would be shocked by portal arrivals. The secondary was rebuilt through the portal. Why should the current room expect anything else?

he most "proven" nickels to me in portal right now are Bo Mascoe from Rutgers and Jaquez White from Troy. With MJ Cannon 3rd.

But also we need a Nickel and Safety. *IF* we got a guy like this that could be safety and nickel and we have poyser and fitzgerald, we could be very diverse with all 3 of those guys filling the Nickel and Safety roles play to play. Could be interesting....

But like theres been smoke with Denson and I just dont see why. That BC safety as well cause I guess hes from Miami....

idk but I like the idea of Poyser/Fitzgerald/Perrich all being super movable along the box/nickel/safety...

He was much better with Hetherman in 24, this season they used him a bit different, even played him at WR.

He is a great athlete, ran a 10.8 in the 100 in high school
He already knows Hetherman’s system
Could be a great fit to replace Scott or Thomas.

I think having Koi and Fitz will give this staff the flexibility to play them both all over the field depending on the situation.
 
No one has really considered Poyser at Nickel, if Fitz and Perich insist on Safety. I think he’d kill it. I believe they are all interchangeable. Just wouldn’t want Fitz at Nickel full time until he puts on more muscle.
 
There’s just not a situation where we shouldn’t want this kid. The threads last year were funny as can be, but the common thread was that we’d be happy to have him. With 0 & 8 graduating, this is just a no brainer, unless he’s out here trying extort qb money, then just work to drive the price upon OSU! lol

I’m not going to act like I watched Gopher football this year but some of their fan base said he took a big step back this year, didn’t have a great year. Maybe playing for his old DC will help him get back to his 2024 season production.

Take a look at our best DB- Scott. He played out of position last season at Auburn, and his level of play went down. Look what happened when he reunited with Etheridge this year. Koi is a no brainer to me
