You have to think he would be interested. Not sure what he is doing now. I know little bit of pipe dream, but hey he played 15+ years on Super Bowl level defenses. He may not have coached, but a safety is almost a DC as it is.

lol I don't see why it's such a no by people. We aren't talking about an average db in NFL. We are talking about arguably best of all time. Why wouldn't you consider that guy to teach dbs. We aren't talking DC. I mean if I was a db I'd want Ed Reed not just some guy.

Because guys who perform at that level often do it based on natural talent. They don't even know why or how they do it so well. They just have it. Guys like that have no idea how to teach someone else how to do it.

Bring him in for quality control or something....not a position coach. Great players dont make good coaches. Don't know why our fans can't understand that

That's right. Do we know if he can or can't, not really. But, nobody is teaching anyone to play the way Ed Reed did or there would be safeties all over the league playing that way.

Yea let's hire a rookie DB coach to pair up with a DC who's soft zone pass defense can't stop a nose bleed.

The ideal way to work with Ed Reed would just be to invite him to camp or practice (in whatever way is allowed by the NCAA) to provide some insight, tips, inspiration for the team, not just the DBs. With where the team is now, you can't use up an "official" spot on him.

STOP.

We don't want Ed Reed, Warren Sapp, Andre Johnson, Ray Lewis, Santana Moss, Edgerrin James, Clinton Portis, Jon Vilma, or any other UM legend to coach here.

They were great players with us and that's it.

We need actual coaches here.

Stop w/ these ridiculous posts. Jesus

Aside from warren sapp, all of those players would be perfect candidates as a position coach at the spot they played...
