All of us are hoping for a miracle season and we go undefeated. But Hypothetically, if we had our perfect scenario for the season, would you rather go 12-1 with loss to fsu or beat fsu but lose 3 games to other opponents. I ask because it seems many posters may be judging the success or failure of season on results of fsu game.

I hate FSU with the burning passion of a thousand suns, but 12-1 is always better than 10-3.

I want to be "back". 12-1 is a **** of a lot closer to "back" than 10-3. 10-3 is only incremental improvement.

If we go 12-1 but don't beat FSU along the way, it means we win the ACC and probably have a win over Clemson and are in the college football playoff....so yeah, I would take that

Very rational replies to my topic. The reason I posted topic is because game with fsu will be very very difficult. I would discourage a Cane fan judging performance of team if fsu beats us. I have read hundreds of posts hoping this is the year we beat fsu. It appeared to me that if we lost the game many posters would consider season a failure because of losing to our number 1 rival.

hopefully for us our team doesnt take on this loser mentality, because if they win out from that point, they most likely get another shot at the noles with much more at stake

This is a no brainer. Beating FSU is great but I'd take 12-1 over 10-3 any day. Beating FSU doesn't mean Miami is back (ask the 09 team) winning 12 games most certainly does.

I would point out that we once won a national championship with one loss.......

......to a despised rival that had help from the referees they brought with them..............

Recent history shows that neither one of those scenarios is likely. A loss to FSU has completely destroyed our last 5-6 seasons. Win or loss that game, this team needs to win 10+ and make to the ACCCG this year to turn the corner.

I think I could live with a close loss at Tallahassee being avenged by a young and improving team beating them in the ACC championship game

Only 1 loss means we're in the ACC title game and get an FSU rematch or face Clemson. How could any Cane fan be upset with that after what we've been through the last 14 years?

OP-hypothetical question: In your scenario, does our 12th win come in the ACCCG vs f$u or clem?

Anyone who'd chose 3 vs 1 loss is swinging hard from the nuts of a team everyone claims is their little brother.

It wasn't FSU that destroyed those seasons... it was clappy-bland crullers

So what if we lose by 1 on the the road to FSU in the 3rd game of the season and win the next 9 going away? Is this even a question?
So we beat FSU to be 3-0 and then go 6-3? No bueno...

I'll take 9 in a row and a top 5 ranking going into ACCCG.
