Yes...Learned under Saban and Carroll. Head coached in the SEC, PAC12 and NFL. Didn't necessarily fail in every position. Wasn't really provided time to do much with the Raiders due to falling out of favor with Al Davis, left TN for his dream job USC( TN fans were ****ed by this), and USC got raped by the NCAA. Great Recruiter and great offensive coach. Plus he believes in hiring an all star staff, rather than his best friends. Young enough to learn from his mistakes and reshape his career. Bama could choose anybody as its OC but Saban chose him. If Saban felt him worthy of being his OC, why would Miami not consider him worthy of becoming HC. And take Bama's d - line coach as the DC.
