Before you scoff at the thought since it's so regurgitated on here like that..

We beat FSU by 3 points that season allowing them to score what? 24 on us on our home turf

That same FSU squad got basically blanked by the sooners in championship game..

That same FSU squad beat Florida what I believe was 30-7, a team we only pulled away from in the 4th quarter in the sugar bowl..

Now I'M NOT SAYING we wouldn't beat oklahoma, but we BLOW them out?

eh

FSU played without their best receiver Snoop Minnis, who was suspended for the championship game. I think we had more weapons and would have beate OU by 3 to 7 points.

we would have won...not blown em out though.

Butch was robbed of a ring and so was Dan Morgan.

Whether we would have won or not can be debated. the true crime is not even having a chance. We should have played in 3 straight NC games 00-02

Blow them out with Butch, no. Beat them, quite possibly. The weather and missing Snoop really hurt FSU, but that was a good FSU team.

Let's see Miami vs a Big 8 Champion in a National Championship game. Hum, I seem to remember winning 1 or 2 no I think it was 4 of our NCs against those very teams. Where was that game? Oh crap, it was in THE OB. Remember that place. 58 -0 RIP Orange Bowl(Yeah I know). Canes win? Hum, I am going to say absolutely. The question is would OU have been favored? If so, then that game would have present a fantastic chance to cash large against Sooner fans. Understand hate us. Hate us in the way we hate gators. We took the heart and became a bigger. badder, more successful OU. Those fans, properly cranked up and prodded, would have laid large on that game. What a score it would have been. Not sure how much Canes would have won by, but Big 8 oil and corn money has a special place in my heart -- I took so much of it in the 80's before they understood we had destroyed their little conference.

REMEMBER THIS!

In a post game interview, Bowden clearly stated that Miami should have played them. He made no bones about it. Miami got jobbed and Bowden had no problem publicly shedding light on it.

Miami would have been tough to beat on what would have been essentially a home game. Oklahoma had a terrific defense and FSU missed Snoop, but Oklahoma beat the bejesus out of Weinke.

not blown out , I think odd makers had us 6 point fav if we played.

where OK was favored by 2 over FSU

OK had a legit D that year and Butch was still our coach and had some issues adjusting at times..

oh well we creamed the gators anyway

Mark Richt left for Georgis before that game too. He had been calling plays there for a while.

The Huskies have their own claim to being jobbed as they were a one loss team and beat us head-to-head unless I'm mistaken.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
