Would having no fans diminish your hype for a season?

Does not having any fans at the game sap any excitement for you about the season?

So the CDC just posted that I’d ppl continue to wash their hands, wear mask, and social distance, the efficacy rate is 50%.

Again; they just started allowing fans back to the AFL w/ no issues reported. It’s about a 35% capacity.

Don’t see why we can have thermal monitoring available for each fan that comes through; have them wear a mask the entire game except for drinking a beverage or eating, and only families/close friends sit together and have them spaced our for social distancing. Pipe in some artificial noise to supplement, and voila!

Anyone who says no at this point clearly doesn't realize what it's going to be like.

Huge plays with no crowd reaction. Crickets after a sack. No tension for a last-minute field goal for the win.

I'm all about seeing football played, but it will definitely be weird and take a lot of the energy out.

If we have to add an addendum to our Rental Contract with the Rock, for so much income derived from our games, (lost because of non attendance) then do it anyway.
Play football and let the revenue fall short, where it will.......bring on the games....
I'm sure Hard Rock would be HAPPY to alter our contract halfway through it to benefit us to their detriment.

That makes sense.

Fans or no fans - I want football, and I want Miami football. If that means I only get UM football if no fans are allowed? So be it.

I'm not sure how I'll react if they cancel the season and I never get to see King and Roche play for Miami. That would be in my top 5 low moments as a UM fan.
If there's not a season and King goes pro he's as dumb as Jeff Thomas.

It’ll be interesting to revisit this thread after about the first month of the season.

They have no choice.
IF there is a season.
MLB players are taking cuts, NFL players accepting cuts, then stadium owners will derive revs from advertising and tv, and no fans with nothing else....so it follows that College ball would have adjustments also.
NOT HAPPY, no other options than accepting activity in dormant stadiums.

Having no fans at major CFB home games is one of my likely scenarios come the Ides of September. duh.

Nonetheless, my other BEST CASE scenario would have 1/3 stadium capacity of all Power 5 schools. For example, Miami would have approximately 22,000 fans at the games. And say Penn St. would have 36,000 fans ( Stadium holds 105,000 plus fans. ).

But then again, there might NOT be a major CFB season!! Ouch. Simply because the recent mega-surge in CoVid-19 disease is taking place " ump's RED STATES.! " LMFAO And that bastion of sizzy liberal communist socialist machinations AKA California is the lone exception to the rule. huh?

Bottom line: It didn't have to be this way, but the absolute WORST POTUS in American history said it was all a Commie Socialist PC Democrat HOAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that's rich.

Had to turn it political. Even though nobody asked, nor cared, ever. And even though I asked to not turn it political. You just couldn’t help yourself. No worse people than those like you. Nobody. Cares. About. Your. Political. Opinion. How hard is that for people to understand?

They have no choice? Seriously?

Do you have any actual concept of the money behind organizations like this? The insurance FOR "acts of god?"

You have no idea what you're talking about.

as Miami wins the national title, and crowds are allowed back into games, I'll be there

All will be good...
They can pump in the appropriate sounds after every play, if they put enough effort into parsing through film & audio of games played in the past. They can create audio reels and have pre-set responses that get played after every TD, big return, sack etc. With some creativity, the only thing missing (for those watching on TV) will be bodies in the stands.

For big games, they should use the audio from the Miami-ND game from the Richt era (very amped up at Big Rock).

For the average ACC game, they should choose audio from a prior Miami-UNC or Miami-Va Tech game that was a little more muted than the ND game.

Done correctly, people watching on TV would not really notice a difference at all.

Everyone attending at the stadium (family member, band members -- physically distanced) as well as a limited crew of volunteers & staff, should wear masks & gloves.

They should test the players on every team for COVID 3-4 days prior to each game. If the test is positive, the player unfortunately has to sit.

It's not that hard to have football responsibly this year.

Hugely important for the American psyche to have football this year. Can't wait to see D'Eriq and the rest of the Canes play. Go Canes!
