Would even one of our players start...

They wouldn’t be starting as early as we have to have our guys come in and start
Bama is starting a True Freshman at LG, a TF at DE, a TF a NT, 2 TF's at 2 LB spots & True Sophomore at CB. They also started Jeudy, Devonta Smith, Henry Ruggs, Tua & Leatherwood all when they were True Freshmen too.

Clemson went 15-0 & won a natty last year with a TF QB & TF WR, plus are starting a TF at DT & have True Sophomores starting at LT, WR, QB, DE & CB this season.

Oh St started JK Dobbins when he was a TF & have True Sophomores starting at QB, Center, RG & CB.

The prevailing thought that the powerhouse schools don't start kids as TF/Red FR/Soph is a complete myth.

It ain't the 80's/90's no more, you can't use youth as an excuse. Every single major championship contending program starts young players all over the field at multiple positions, even the most important ones... Every single one of them.

Evan Neal looks like a future Pro Bowler as a true freshman. I watch him and just shake my head.

agree we're the only school that doesnt, and the ironic part is when they do its 2 stars

...at Bama, OSU, Clemson...?

Maybe Rousseau, Garvin, KJ, Hedley?

Not even sure about that...

There lies the problem. Rousseau (will play in the NFL) could, but would probably not start due to respect for a NFL draft worthy senior at those programs, but get a lot of run. Without analyzing the punting games, Hedley could. As a side note, no one is talking about whether Hedley returns, but given his age, I could see him deciding to take his NFL shot. Is he really going to get stronger or get more tats in another year? He has taken a bad position and made it good. Can see KJ playing in the NFL, but there is some serious talent at WR on those teams. He would get rotational burn but not sure about starting? Garvin is a mystery to me. He has real talent and I expect him to play in the league. But has not been dominant as I would have expected. But the current scheme of 3 man rush and often using DL as spies baffles me? Look at the Florida film, he was for the most part on passing downs the spy against Franks rather than the rush end?.

Again, without thoroughly looking at rosters, Shaq or Pinkney might? They are both good but not great. As seniors on those teams with a lot of talent around them might have had a chance. But neither are dominant players. Bolden and Bandy would get snaps but not ready to say they would start. Dallas is the kind of guy that would get snaps wherever he is and will get some NFL burn. Jordan would get run or start, again without doing a full roster analysis, he is that good, will play in the NFL.

But that is only ten on the UM roster, even under consideration. Shows how far away from NC contention this program is.

Only Brevin
Rousseua, Brevin, Nesta & Gurvan Hall would all start at those programs imo.

But you also have to factor in those schools have significantly better facilities, S&C programs than we do, so they actually develop their players to their potential, which means they would take some of the guys we got & make them even better.

Clemson this year on defense is kind of the no name defense minus Isaiah Simmons. It’s about the sum of the parts.

Miami has plenty of defensive personal who could play and some start at Clemson.

Venables is the best DC in America, and he would love to have a Jon Garvin, Greg Rosseuau, Jon Ford, Trevon Hill at his disposal. Mike Pickney, Trajan Bandy wouof both play a lot at Clemson. Gurvan Hall and Bubba Bolden would get run too.

now ask yourself..are any of our TF or RS freshman as good as the ones Bama and Clemson have had to start?? We’ve had to depend on young players out of absolute necessity. And it hasn’t been 1or 2 sprinkled around vets..bama and Clemson have been able to RS kids who would have to be rushed to start at multiple positions here for years. ..please don’t compare us to bama or Clemson when it comes to this

Jon ford would be a rotatational player..I don’t think Bandy would start outside there. Gurvan would play..Tre hill would play..funny how u left out shaq when he is there prototype MLB to..Pink Would play, I don’t think over Simmons tho..Bubba would play..but what would be in front or behind them at Clemson would matter a lot more

Bandy might get burn as a nickel CB but he doesn't start on the boundary at those schools. He regressed this year and they have some elite corners. Who do you think he would start over?

Always trying to blame it on the players, we do have depth issues at some positions causing issues(is that the players fault too?), but does 8-0 Minnesota have better talent than 4-4 Miami?

Now, I'm not all in on the Diaz hate train. Think he's learning on the job and the jury is still out. But this team is much better than 4-4 and a couple of bone head decisions could have us at 7-1 or 6-2 easily. I'll see what he does with the underwhelming offensive coaches in December/January before I bring out the guillotine.

They would be in Bama & Clemson's program because they actually develop their guys & get them on the field early.

It doesn't really matter if you start a young player out of necessity or luxury, their performance is based on how fast as a program you can get them caught up in Strength & Conditioning, and how fast they take to the playbook & are put in position to succeed early.

The fact that we have to rely on young guys early should actually force us to shift the focus as a program into speeding up the process in which we develop our players. Instead of constantly trying to use it as a clutch to defend mediocrity use is as a tool to build our team to it's strengths.

The fact is, there's no more excuses bruh. Every program in D1 plays TF/Red FR/TS's all the time, all of them do including other teams in the ACC & still manage to have them as productive players & contribute to winning. Miami shouldn't be the only one that gets the lame excuse of "we're young bro!" Every year, that's just bogus.
