Worst tackling game of the Cristobal era...

No doubt we got our asses kicked in both trenches. The play calling didn’t help when you pass and it’s a light box.

What was the cause? Short week after playing an uptempo USF offense than ran lots of plays? Injuries piling up? Not focused enough? VT just has horses in Drones and the RB?

I think really it was a little bit of all that. This was uncharacteristic performance from a Guidry defense. It was his units worst tackling game of his Miami tenure.

problem is 185 pound DBs running full speed getting there late while the wr can make a move and remove the DBs little body with a shoulder move. Get bigger faster DBs on this roster. If you watched the UGA Bama game those dudes on defense are killers and we not ready for that type of talent yet. If you recruit that type of player the minute the catch is made the wr dies instantly.

UGA were missing a **** ton of tackles last night, especially in the first half. Our young guys that are having to play now because of depth issues are still developing. We should improve as the season goes on.

because they were going against guys as good as them. Thats the only reason, our guys look slow to the ball. Bit credit to Drones I thought he played good for what he is, he got them the ball quick enough at times to make a play.

We have alot more players from those areas these days than in past years. It was just a bad game all around. Defense sucked, o-line struggled, cam had 3 turnovers shít was just pure diarrhea.

Guidry needs to sub the LBs a lil more. Kiko and Wes need a few more breathers to keep them fresh.

Don’t start Richard over OJ no more. The kid had been starting up until this point I don’t get playing Richard over him vs vt.

Porter isn’t playing well at nickel. He needs to kick back outside full time. I saw they made the switch late in the 2nd half and had porter outside with richard at nickel

Powell needs to be at nickel until brown comes back. Or try hill at nickel. Give Patterson more burn at safety because the one thing he could do in hs was tackle

Get Barron a lil more rest

End of the day, a missed tackle is a missed tackle no matter how good or bad you look doing it.

But on another post, I was saying the same thing last night. So I agree with your opinion.

I will say this Bama's DBs made more plays to change the outcome of the game but let's be honest BOTH secondaries were getting Cooked 🍳

One way these cats could get more rest is if they stopped opposing team drives.

Agree. All we can do is hope our guys continue to develop. We have to continue to recruit elite athletes as well.

That's an interesting stat to watch as the season progresses, a good defense you'd want ard 21-22ppg against P4 opps.

It might be too early to judge idk

The guys missing tackles weren’t young. lol.

We actually don’t have a very young team as far as starters go.

DL-
Messidor (5th yr RS Jr)
Baron (5th yr RS Sr)
Alston (5th yr RS Sr)
Clark (6th yr RS Sr)
Barrow (Barrow 5th yr RS Sr)

LB-
Mauigoa (Sr)
Bissainthe (Jr)

Secondary-
DPJ (5th yr RS Sr)
Richard (Jr)
Harris (RS So)
Frederique (True Freshman)
Powell (6th yr RS Sr)

We have only one guy who’s a true freshman in our starting lineups, & he arguably was our best defender. lol. We’re actually one of the oldest teams in the P4 on the defensive side of the ball in regards to starters.

Lastly, as competition improves, meaning playing other P4 teams, our numbers are not going to look the same as playing Ball State, USF, FAMU, or that team in the swamp.

There’s already been chinks shown; if fans actually go back & watch games, pause & really analyze, our defense have shown leaks against every team at the 2nd & 3rd levels. The difference have been we played against poor OLs, & our DL was able to mask, &/or we played QBs w/ accuracy issues.

If the DL doesn’t get home, we’re vulnerable. ****, it took our WR, Horton, to make a play on the ball vs. VT as our DBs were well out of position.

In regards to ur UGA comparison, pls don’t do that. lol
